With the absence of someone who had been with him day and night, everything changed. For example, Franklin, wh usually let Elizabeth handle his dressing, now had to decide which die to wea the morning. In front of nearly identical options, he hesitated a bit before randomly picking one based on gut feeling. Running late for the morning meeting, he rushed downstairs while tying his tie. In the lobby, he spotted a girl standing alone. Turning to him as she heard his footsteps, she greeted him with a sweet voice, “Frank, good morning!”
What are you doing here?” Franklin asked casually while adjusting his tie. I’m here for breakfast,” she replied.
“We don’t have breakfast here,” Franklin said.
Shiny Estate was home to too many people. The North Building was the quietest and had served as the wedding suite for Franklin and Elizabeth. It was tucked away in a corner, with only the cleaning lady passing by regularly, allowing them to stay mostly undisturbed.
Franklin disliked having others in this building, especially his noisy and carefree little sister, Sharon Jones.
Sharon, as nonchalant as ever, commented, “The servants here can’t cook. Food made by Elizabeth is way better.”
Franklin’s expression shifted slightly. “And?”
“I want her to cook for me,” Sharon replied.
Franklin knew his family didn’t respect Elizabeth much, but he didn’t expect them to treat her like a servant
The lobby remained silent. Ignoring everything, Sharon stretched her neck and shouted upstairs, “Elizabeth, don’t you know what time it is? You’re still asleep? I’m gonna starve to death!”
“Sharon!” Franklin lowered his voice, sounding serious. “Are you always this rude?” “What’s wrong? This is how I’ve always been,” Sharon muttered, looking down and pouting. “You never thought it was rude before.”
“She’s not here, Franklin said.
“What?” Sharon was surprised.
“She went back to her parents‘ place,” Franklin replied.
Sharon found it hard to believe Franklin’s words.

Since marrying Franklin, Elisabeth had always been eager to spend every minute at Shiny state waiting for him. For three years, she rarely len the estate, so it was shocking for her to suddenly return to be parents‘ place,
Morcores that place wasn’t truly her ho her. Her stepmother, Helen Baylor, would sheer at her whenever they met, and The people there looked down on her half brother, Lawson Taylor, always threatened to hit her.
Living there was not better than being at banklin’s place.
Sharon couldn’t hide her surprise, finding it hard to believe Elizabeth would go back to her parents place “Is she having a change of heart? Did she ask you to trick me just to get out of cooking for me?”
Then she quickly denied her guess in her mind. ‘No way. Frank never had Khzabeth’s back or stood up for her. He certainly wouldn’t cover for her!
“Go back and eat at your place” Franklin said flatly, showing no emotion. “And when she comes back, be nice to her. Stop giving her a hard time”
Franklin always spoke in a cool and detached manner, making it hard to tell if he meant what he said.
They were standing apart, so Sharon thought she had misheard. Rolling her eyes, she felt it boring to waste her time arguing with Franklin. As she walked past Franklin, she tossed out, “Elizabeth doesn’t care if we’re nice to her. She only cares about you
Franklin frowned, ready to scold Sharon–Before he could say anything, Sharon mudged his tie. “Hey, Frank, your tie really doesn’t suit your outfit today.”
Franklin eyed her coldly. “Leave.”
“Fine!” Sharon raised her head high, but deep down, she was backing down. Her voice dropped. “You think I want to be stuck with you? Only Elizabeth treats you like you’re something special.
