As chaos continues to fold before me, Circenn grabs my hand and throws Jake ever his shoulder.
“I look for Blake, take Jake and leave this place immediately!” His voice is stern and covered in nothing but panic.
“Hurry!” He interrupts and throws Jake over my shoulder.
I start to head towards the grand door like everyone else. The noise is loud and disturbing and the sound of heels clanking against the concrete flooring is making Jake sob in my arms.
I think I’m cursed.
It’s been fire two times in a row now.
But thank goodness, this time around the door isn’t blocked like the first dinner party as this party is only for family or other distant relatives so the quests are a bit few
I make it outside in one piece with Jake now crying in my arms.

She rolls her eyes.

“You were with Blake earlier, do you know where he might be?” I ask.
The child looks at me for a long time without saying anything.
“I told you they’re just kids, they know nothing” Kimberly scoffs.

“I guess some children can be exactly like their parents, just empty” I say.
Kimberly’s face drops at my words.
I know she is about to say and do the most absurd thing when Circenn’s voice disrupts it from behind

I turn around to see Circenn and then Blake crying in his arms
My heart softens and I rush up to them and pull Blake in a hug who starts to cry on my shoulder.
Circenn looks mad and defeated.
“There is no fire. It’s a false alarm. Someone thought it was fun to prank the entire guest here and I found Blake locked up in the bathroom’s lobby at the other end of the building ”
My knees go weak,
“Don’t worry, I’ll have someone investigate this, and whoever locked my boy in there, that bastard is not going to know what hit them. There are CCTV everywhere, and each of them are working line Circenn seethes.
“Oh God” I sigh, wiping Blake’s tears,
“It’s a good thing someone pulled this stupid prank. It’s time to leave this bloody place and go home. I’m pretty sure must have learned their lessons today” Circenn sounds really mad.
He takes Jake from me and balances Blake on his arm.
“Let’s go home.” He says.

I never knew this word would bring such solace to my body one day.
I can’t wait to leave either. I’ve had enough of this place.
“Kimberly Ambrose” Circenn calls, as we take a step forward, stopping in front of Kimberly
