Chapter 12
Sofia’s Point of View
After grabbing my purse and phone, I decided to head to Ella’s room, which wasn’t that far from mine. I opened the door and was shocked to see Ethan walking back and forth by my room, looking nervous. When he realized I was there, he stopped moving and looked me in the eyes. I couldn’t help but stare into his eyes as well. I felt like I was in a trance. I looked into his beautiful blue eyes that I had loved for so long. After a while, I cleared my throat before speaking.
“Hi, Ethan,” I said. I wanted to face palm myself for not coming up with something better to say.
“Hey, I was about to knock on your door to see if you were ready to go get. your things from your old apartment,” Ethan said
“Yeah, I am ready. I was about to go and see if Ella was ready,” I replied
“Good, we can go to her room together,” Ethan said
“Okay,” I replied. Ella’s room was on the other side of the hallway. Ethan and I walked in silence for a moment before he spoke.
“How did you sleep?” Ethan asked
“I slept better than I have in a long time. The bed is very comfy,” I replied
“I am happy to hear that. If you ever need anything, just let me know,” Ethan said. I was still shocked that Ethan was talking to me and being so
nice to me.
“You don’t have to be so nice to me.” I said
“What do you mean?” Ethan asked, and I sighed
“I know you don’t like me. I know you are only doing this because your parents told you to. I just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to be nice to me. I promise I won’t tell your parents if you keep ignoring me like you have been since freshman year. Honestly, If you don’t want me here, I will tell them I don’t want to stay here. I won’t tell them anything about you, I promise,” I said. Ethan stopped walking and made me stop by gently holding my arm, sending those pleasurable sparks through my body.
“Sofia, I want you here. I am not being nice to you because of my parents. I am doing it because I want to. I am sorry for the way I have been treating you. I thought it was for the best to stay away from you, but now I know I was a fool. I fucked up big time, and now you might never forgive me,” Ethan said, confusing me.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, but before he could answer, I heard Ella’s voice
“Hey, I was on my way to your room,” Ella said, and then she looked at Ethan and me. “I am sorry. I am interrupting something?” Ella asked
“No, we were on our way to get you,” I said. I looked over to see Ethan staring at me. He had an expression on his face I didn’t understand.
We made our way to Ethan’s black BMW.
“You can sit in the front, Sof,” Ella said as she opened the backdoor.
“You can sit in the front, Ella. I don’t mind sitting in the back,” I replied
“No, it’s okay. I don’t like sitting in the front,” Ella replied. I didn’t say anything else and sat in the passenger seat. Maybe she didn’t want to sit up front with her brother. Ethan started the car and drove off. I was shocked that Ethan didn’t need me to tell him the direction to my apartment, but then I thought maybe Ella had already told him where I lived.
“Um, the two of you can stay in the car. It won’t take me long,” I said. I knew Ella had already seen my apartment, but I didn’t want Ethan to see it. There were men standing in front like they always did. They were selling drugs.
“We are going to go with you so we can help carry your things to the car,” Ethan said
“I don’t have much, so I can get it myself,” I replied
“Nonsense. We are going with you,” Ella said, and they both got out of the car. I sighed but got out of the car, knowing they weren’t going to stay in
the car.

Chapter 12
I saw Ethan pull me closer to him when one of the men who was standing outside of the apartments started smiling at me. I was a little shocked, but to be honest, it felt good to have his arms wrapped around my waist, so I didn’t say anything or pull away. Ella seemed to be fine with it as well. She had a smile on her face as we walked to my apartment.
There was a note on the door when we got there. It was from the electric company, saying they disconnected the electricity. I was embarrassed that Ethan and Ella saw it, but I didn’t say anything. When we walked into the house, it was dark.
“The two of you can wait here while I get my stuff,” I said. I tried to turn the lights on even though I knew they wouldn’t come on, and then I went to my room. I packed up the little bit of clothing I had and my books. I wasn’t lying when I said I didn’t have much.
Once I was finished packing, I picked up the trash bag. I put all of my stuff in and was about to leave my room, but then I saw Ethan standing by my bedroom door. He had a sad look on his face as he looked at my room. I am sure he felt bad for me because all that was in the room was the old mattress and an old nightstand where my alarm clock was.
“I am ready to go now,” I said
“Is that all you are taking with you?” Ethan asked
“Yes,” I replied. I was about to walk out of my room, but Ethan stopped me, and I looked at him with a confused expression on my face..
“I will take that to the car,” Ethan said, and he took the trash bag out of
