Sofia’s Point of View
“I am sorry about tonight. Everything didn’t go like I wanted it to,” Ethan said as we were walking. After eating dinner, Ethan asked if I would go for a walk with him, and I agreed. After Ethan told everyone they would be punished if they hurt me in any way most of the people stopped looking at us and started minding their business. The only one that kept looking at me was Jane. I tried to ignore her but it was hard to do when I kept feeling her eyes on me.
Ethan noticed and glared at her, and she finally left the dining hall. I knew she was going to be a problem, and I was honestly scared. Jane was a werewolf, and I knew if she wanted to, she could tear me apart.
“It’s okay. I know it isn’t your fault,” I said. Ethan started walking toward the woods, and I stopped moving. “Where are we going?” I asked
“I want to show you something. I promise you are safe. I won’t let anything happen to you,” Ethan said, and he held his hand out for me to take. I looked at it for a moment before putting my hand in his. A big smile made its way to Ethan’s face, and we started walking in the woods. All I could see were trees. About fifteen minutes later, we were by a river. The moon was shining bright.
“This is so beautiful.” I said
“I am glad you think so. This is where I go when I need to think. I have never brought anyone here before,” Ethan said, making my heart flutter.
“Not even Jane?” I asked
“No one has been here with me,” Ethan said. It made me happy knowing that I was the only one he had taken there. It made me feel special. “I wasn’t lying to you when I said I didn’t have strong feelings for Jane. I was only with her because I thought she was going to be my mate. I feel so
stupid now for my actions. I know that is one of the reasons you are worried about being with me,” Ethan said.
“I am not going to lie to you, Ethan. That is the biggest reason why I am. worried about giving you a chance. You and Jane have been together since we were freshmen in high school. You say you never had strong feelings. for her and that you loved me, but I don’t know how I am supposed to believe that when all I have seen were you two together. It looked like you cared for her, Ethan. It looked like you were happy with her. I am not the only one who thought that. Everyone from school believed you happy with her, and now you are telling me that you weren’t,” I said, and. then I sighed. “I am afraid that,” I started to say, then stopped

“You are afraid that what?” Ethan asked, and I looked him in the eye.
“I am afraid that you only want to be with me because of the mate bond and that once you don’t need me anymore, you leave me and go back to Jane,” I said truthfully. Ethan walked over to me and took my hand. Those pleasurable sparks went through my body.
“That would never happen, Sof. I have been in love with you for a very long time. You have no idea how happy I am that you are my mate. I have

wished for this, dreamed for this, and my wish and dreams have finally come true. I would never leave you,” Ethan said.
“I want to believe you, Ethan, but it’s hard to,” I said
“Then let me prove it to you. If you give me a chance, I will show you that I am telling the truth,” Ethan said.
“I want to give you a chance, Ethan, but I am scared,” I said.
“I know you are scared, but you don’t need to be. There is nothing to be
scared of,” Ethan said
“Even if you are telling the truth. How am I supposed to become the Luna
Queen? I am a human. Everyone here is stronger than me. What if
someone wants to hurt me because they are upset I am your mate? I wouldn’t be able to defend myself. I am not strong enough to beat a werewolf. I am too weak,” I said sadly.
“You are not weak, Sof, and no one here would dare lay a finger on you. It wouldn’t let them. I would kill anyone before they hurt you,” Ethan said, and I looked at him but stayed silent. “Look, Sof. I understand why you are worried, but you don’t have to be. I would never leave you, and I would never let anyone hurt you. Everyone here knows you are their future Luna Queen, and they wouldn’t dare hurt you,” Ethan said
“I hope you are right,” I said.
“I am right. One more thing I want to tell you. You are not weak. I don’t like hearing you call yourself weak. You might be human, but that doesn’t

make you weak. If you would like, and to be honest, I think it would be a good idea just so you could defend yourself better, you could train with us,” Ethan said
“How could I train with werewolves?” I asked. I was confused by why he
would ask me that,
“Not only werewolves live here, Sof. You are not the only human that is mated to a werewolf. There are plenty of humans here that train with us,”
Ethan said
“Oh,” I said. I knew there were humans in the pack. I met some of them, but I didn’t know they were training with werewolves.
“Look, I understand your worry, but please give me a chance to show you that you have nothing to worry about. Please give me a chance to prove
that you are the woman I have been in love with. Please be mine,” Ethan said. I thought about it for a moment and remembered what I told Tammie. I told her I would give him a chance.
“Okay, I will give you a chance.”
