Chapter 29
Ethan’s Point of View

“Look, I understand your worry, but please give me a chance to show you that you have nothing to worry about. Please give me a chance to prove that you are the woman I have been in love with. Please be mine,” I said. I was worried that she would say no. I couldn’t be upset with Sofia. She had every reason not to trust me. I had been nothing but treated her like she meant nothing to me when really she meant everything to me.
I hated that she didn’t trust me. I hated that she was worried that someone would hurt her. I would never let anyone hurt her. I hated that she thought I had feelings for Jane when, in reality, I could barely stand her. I still had a feeling that Jane was the one behind Sof, who was almost getting attacked, but we couldn’t find any proof that it was her. My dad and I were still investigating what happened, but there were no leads. I kept telling my dad that I knew it was Jane, but he told me that there was nothing we could do without proof. All I could do was watch her. I had some of the warriors watch her to make sure she stayed away from Sof.
I was so upset when I saw her glaring at Sof when we were in the dining hall. She needed to get it through her head that Sof was my mate. I felt like I was partly to blame. I mean, I did make her my girlfriend for four years. I gave her hope that we would end up together. If I didn’t do that, then she wouldn’t have a reason to think we were going to end up together. She wouldn’t think she had a chance to be with me.

going to agree. I was so shocked when she finally answered me.
“Okay, I will give you a chance,” Sof said, making me smile.
“Really,” I asked.

“Really, I will give you a chance,” Sof said, and I wrapped my arms. around her and hugged her tightly. Sof hugged me back, and then I kissed her on her forehead. “You have no idea how happy I am. I promise you won’t regret it,” I said, and Sof smiled.
We stayed by the river and talked and laughed. My arms were wrapped around her while she leaned into my body. I loved the feeling of her body on mine. I loved the sparks that were going through my body from our contact. They felt so good. I knew she could feel them, too.
We were sitting out there for over two hours when Sof started to yawn. I didn’t want to leave, but I knew she was tired. “We should head inside so you can get some sleep,” I said
“Okay,” Sof said, though I could tell she didn’t want to leave either, which made me happy. I got up and then held my hand out to help Sof up. I was happy that she took my hand without hesitation. Once she was up, I wrapped my hands around her body and pulled her to me. “I am so happy that you are giving me a chance. Thanks for being mine, and I promise you won’t regret your choice. I promise I will never hurt you. I promise to treat you right. I am going to treat you like the queen you are,” I said as I looked at her lips. She was looking at mine as well. I wanted to kiss her so badly, but I didn’t want to do something she would be uncomfortable with. Sof licked her lips before replying.
“I believe you.” She said as she licked her lips again. I couldn’t hold back anymore. I moved closer to her and connected my lips to hers.
I could feel sparks all over my body. They had become more intense, and I knew it was because of the kiss. Sof didn’t move her lips at first, and I started to worry that I had moved too fast for her, but my worry didn’t last long. A moment later. Sof started moving her lips with mine. I could tell she was inexperienced. I was sure I was her first kiss, and that made me happy. I was so happy I was her first kiss. I would be the only one to taste her lips.
We pulled away when we needed to breathe. I looked at Sof to see she was already looking at me.
“Wow.” Sof said, causing me to chuckle, and that caused Sof to blush. I couldn’t help but caress her reddened cheeks.
“Wow, is right. That was amazing.” I said, and I grabbed her hand. Come on. Let’s go home,” I said, and we walked hand in hand to the castle.
“Thanks for dinner.” Sof said
“You don’t have to thank me, Love. I am happy you decided to have dinner with me,” I said, and then I kissed her lips softly. “I will see you
tomorrow,” I said
“See you,” Sof said. I waited for Sof to unlock her door, but the door opened on its own. I was shocked because I saw her lock it. I sniffed and could smell animal blood in her room. Before she could walk into her room, I grabbed her arm softly, causing her to look at me.
“Wait here,” I said, and I walked into her room. When I walked inside, a growl came from my mouth because I was shocked and upset at what I
saw.
“What’s wrong.” I heard Sof say
“Sof, don’t come in here.” I said, but it was too late. She had already walked into her room. Before she spoke, a gasp left her lips.
“I don’t understand. Who would have done this?”
