Chapter 34
Sofia’s Point of View
“Time for you girls to wake up,” I heard Tammie yell. I opened my eyes to see I was in Ella’s room. Tammie was standing by the bed.
“Mom, it’s too early,” Ella said as she pulled the covers over her head.
“No, it’s not. It’s almost noon,” Tammie said, causing me to look at the clock on the nightstand to see it was almost noon. “You girls need to get up because we have to go shopping, remember? Unless you don’t want to go with us, Ella,” Tammie said, and Ella instantly got up.
“I am up. We will be ready soon,” Ella said
“That’s what I thought. I will be waiting for you girls downstairs,” Tammie. said, and she walked out of the room.
“You can borrow one of my outfits since your clothes are ruined,” Ella said. She got out of bed and went over to her closet to get me an outfit. I thanked her, and we took turns getting ready in the bathroom attached to her room. Once we were ready, we went to the family room, where Tammie, Eric, and Ethan were talking quietly. Ethan quickly got up from the couch and walked over to me..
“Hey, Love. How are you feeling after everything that happened last night?” Ethan asked.
“I am fine,” I lied. Truthfully, I couldn’t stop thinking about what
happened last night and how someone destroyed my room. I had a good idea of who it was. I was sure it was Jane and I planned on telling Ethan that.
“We need to talk to you about something important,” Ethan said and he let me to the couch to sit next to him. Ella also walked over and sat on the other side of me. Tammie and Eric were sitting on the other couch. I could tell by their facial expressions that whatever they wanted to talk about was important. Tamme seemed upset because there was a frown on her face. I sat quietly and waited for them to speak.
“Last night, my dad and I questioned Jane to see if she was the one that destroyed your room and if she put Chace up to attack you. She tried to deny everything but I knew it had to be her. Dad was about to Alpha Command her to tell us the truth, but one of the werewolf council members barged into the room,” Ethan said
“What is a werewolf council member?” I asked. I had read a lot of werewolf books, so I was sure I knew what they were, but I wanted to make sure.
“My great–great–great–grandfather created the werewolf council to help make sure that everyone is being treated fairly in all the packs no matter what rank they are. They are supposed to investigate if there is an assumption that someone is being abused. Sometimes, they get anonymous tips telling them that someone in a pack is being mistreated. If that happens, they go to that pack to hold an investigation. If they have any evidence that the accusation, then they tell my dad, and he tells them what to do.” Ethan said.

“Ok, so they are like detectives,” I said
“Yeah, something like that,” Ethan replied, then he started to frown.
“Someone told one of the councilmen that Jane was being mistreated by me and my father, and that was why he was here. By the time we got back to the cell, Jane was gone. We don’t know where she is now,” Ethan said, which caused me to worry.
“How did she get away?” I asked
“She is working with an evil witch. We believe they teleported her out of the cell, which is why no one saw her leave,” Eric said
“How do you know Jane is to blame for everything?” I asked.
“Besides the fact that she escaped from a cell with the help of an evil witch. We went to her room and found some disturbing things,” Ethan said
“What did you find?” I asked
“We found a hidden room in her closet. She had a wall full of pictures of you. There were some from when you were in the fifth grade up until now. I don’t want to scare you, Sof, but this is serious. We don’t know where Jane is or what she is planning,” Ethan said
“You think she is going to come for me again? She wants to kill me so she can have you,” I said, already knowing the answer. Jane was in love with Ethan and felt that if she got rid of me, they would be together.
“I don’t want to scare you, but yes. I think she will come after you again.” Ethan said. Then he placed his hand in mine, causing me to look him in the eye. “I don’t want you to worry, Love. I will never let her hurt you. My dad and I have already assigned guards for you. They will go with you everywhere you go,” Ethan said. I didn’t like that I was going to have people following me everywhere. I felt like I wouldn’t have any privacy “There is one other thing I wanted to talk to you about, but I don’t know how you will take it,” Ethan said
“What is it?” I asked, and Ethan sighed
“It isn’t safe for you to stay in a room alone with everything going on. I think it would be best if you in with me.”
