Sofia’s Point of View
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Ethan asked. We had just pulled up to my old apartments and saw her car outside.
“Yes, I need to hear her side of the story, Ethan,” I said
“Okay, then lets go inside,” Ethan said and we got out of the car and headed into the apartment complex.
“Haven’t seen you around here in a while, sexy,” a drunk man who always sits out in front of the apartments said.
“Stay away from her,” Ethan said, and he wrapped his arms around me protectively.
“Wow, hold on. I mean no harm, man,” the drunk man said as he put his hands up in surrender.
“It’s okay, Ethan. He is just drunk,” I said, and Ethan took a deep breath before walking with me into the apartment complex.
“Are you okay?” I asked Ethan as we walked up the stairs to get to my old apartment.
“I am fine. I hate that you used to live here. I should have done something

earlier instead of pushing you away,” Ethan said, and I stopped walking.
“Ethan,” I said, and he looked at me. “That is in the past. You need to let it go. We are starting over, okay?” I said, and Ethan sighed
“Okay, you are right. I am sorry,” Ethan said.
“Please stop apologizing. You have been doing that since we found out I was your mate,” I said
“I am sor… I mean, okay, YOu are right. I will stop apologizing,” Ethan said, and I smiled. Ethan and I walked to my mom’s apartment, and I knocked on the door. It was past two in the morning, so I was hoping she
was up. After a few moments, I heard my mom speak.
“Who the fuck is knocking on my door at this time?” My mom yelled.
“Mom, it’s me. I need to talk to you,” I replied
“Sofia, is that you?” my mom said. I heard the lock click, letting me know. she unlocked the door and then opened it.
“Hello, mom,” I said
“I am surprised you are here. I thought that you wouldn’t want to see me
anymore now that you have Tammie,” my mom said, and then she looked at Ethan. “And who is this young man?” My mom asked as she looked Ethan up and down, causing me to roll my eyes.
“Hello, Miss. My name is Ethan Black,” Ethan said.

“Ethan Black. You are Tammie and Eric’s son,” My mom asked
“Yes,” Ethan said.
“Mom, I came here to talk to you about something,” I said, and my mom moved out of the way so that Ethan and I could walk into the house. We walked to the living room and sat down. Ethan and I sat next to each other on the couch while my mom sat on a chair. My mom was watching us closely. Ethan was sitting very close to me, and he was holding my hand.
“Mom, I wanted to ask you about my father,” I said, and my mom looked
me in the eye.
“I told you he left us,” My mom said.
“Is that the truth?” I asked
“Why are you asking me that? Did Tammie say something to you?” My mom asked
“She told me that she believes my dad is a man named Don,” I said
“Of course she did. What else did she tell you?” My mom asked
“Everything,” I replied. I could tell my mom was upset by her facial expression. Everyone stayed silent for a moment, and then I finally spoke. “Mom, I want to know if everything Tammie told me was true,” I said
“What exactly did she tell you?” My mom asked

“That you grew up with my birth father. His parents adopted you, but you didn’t find out that they weren’t your real parents until you used your magic. They told me that you are a witch and my dad is an alpha. She told me that you drugged him and…” I stopped talking, not wanting to finish. my sentence. “Is everything Tammie told me true?” I asked
“Yes, it is,” My mom said. I couldn’t help but cry when I heard my mom confess that everything Tammie had told me was true.
“Why would you do that?” I asked
“I am not going to sit here and make up excuses for what I did. I know I was wrong. All I can say is that I did it because I loved him. When I figured out that he didn’t, I left. Two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant with you.
“Did you ever tell him or your parents?” I asked
“No. I was too embarrassed to tell them. Plus, I was worried that Don might take you from me. I couldn’t let him and his mate raise you. She isn’t your mother. I am,” My mom said, causing me to laugh.
“That is so funny. You have never acted like a mother to me,” I said
“You are right. I haven’t been the best mother to you, but I want you to know that I love you, Sofia. It’s just every time I look at you, I see Don and…” My mom said, and she sighed. “I don’t know how to explain it,” my mom said
“I get it. You hate that I look like him, and that is why you treat me the

way you do,” I said, and I looked at Ethan.

“I am ready to go now,” I said
“Okay,” Ethan said, and we got up to leave. Before I could walk out of the door, my mom spoke.
“I know you won’t believe this, but I do love you, Sofia,” my mom said, and I looked at her with tears in my eyes.
“You are right, Mom. I don’t believe you, but that doesn’t change the fact that I love you. I just wish you loved me too,” I said, and I walked out of
the door.
“Are you okay, Love?” Ethan asked once we were in the car
“Yeah, I am fine,” I replied. Ethan started the car, and we drove back to the castle in silence. Once we made it home, Ethan turned off the car, and he was about to get out, but I spoke.
“I have made up my mind. I want you to get into contact with Don and let him know about me,” I said
“Are you sure?” Ethan asked, and I nodded
“Yeah, he has a right to know about me. It is up to him if he and his family want to accept me or not”
