Chapter 7
Ethan’s Point of View(Earlier that morning)
“Wake up, Ethan,” I heard Ella say before she poured cold water on me, causing me to open my eyes and sit up on my bed. “Happy Eighteenth Birthday, brother,” Ella laughed as she ran out of my room.
“I am going to get you back, Ella,” I growled. I should have known she was going to pull a stunt like that. She always did something to me every year on our birthday. I got up out of bed and walked over to the bathroom, which was attached to my room. I took off my wet clothes and got into the shower.
My name is Ethan Black, and today is my eighteenth birthday, along with my twin sister Ella. You would think that we hated each other because of the way she just poured water on me, but we were actually. really close. I loved my sister, and she loved me. I would never let anyone hurt her, and she would never let anyone hurt me.
After taking a shower, I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and headed. back to my room. A few minutes later, there was a knock on my door.
“Come in,” I said, and Jane, my girlfriend, walked inside. We stared at each other for a moment, and then she frowned.
“I guess we are not mates,” I said to her.
“I guess not,” Jane replied. Then, a smile came to her face. “But that doesn’t mean you can’t take me as your chosen mate,” Jane said, causing me to frown.
Chapter 7
“Jane, I am not taking you as a chosen mate. I want my fated mate, and so should you,” I replied.
I forgot to tell you one important thing about me. I am a werewolf, and so is my family. My dad is the Alpha right now, and as soon as I find my mate, my dad will pass the title down to me.
“But I am the Beta’s daughter. I am meant to be with you. The Moon Goddess obviously made a mistake. You should just make me your mate and Luna,” Jane said, and I sighed.
“Look, Jane. I am sorry, but I can’t do that. We were obviously not meant to be,” I said. Jane shocked me when she walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me.
“No, I am not going anywhere. I love you, Ethan. You have to make me your chosen mate. We are meant to be together,” Jane said and I was shocked when she started sucking on my neck. I could feel something sharp and knew she was extending her canines. She was about to mark me as her chosen mate. I wasn’t going to let that happen.
“No, STOP,” I growled, and I pushed her away from me, causing her to fall to the ground. I lifted my hand to my neck and could feel some blood.
“Are you crazy, Jane? You almost marked me,” I growled
“Ethan, I am so sorry. I don’t know what came over me,” Jane said
“I don’t want to hear it. Just leave,” I said
“Ethan,” Jane started to say, but I cut her off.
“LEAVE NOW,” I growled, and Jane ran out of my room.
Chapter 7
I walked to my bathroom to look at my neck. It was already healing. I was so lucky that I stopped her before she could bite deep into my neck and mark me. I wouldn’t be able to get rid of her mark until I found my fated mate if she would have succeeded in marking me, and my fated mate would have been pissed if Jane would have marked me.
I was so pissed at Jane. What the fuck was she thinking. Well, I knew what she was thinking. She was upset that we weren’t mates. Jane has always been a spoiled little brat, and I honestly couldn’t stand her attitude most of the time. I know you are probably wondering why I stayed with her. Well, she is the beta of the pack’s daughter, and ninety percent of the time, the future alpha is mated to the highest–ranking pack member’s daughter, and that would be Jane since she is my father’s beta’s daughter. I thought that I might as well get used to being with her since we would most likely be mates, even though I honestly couldn’t stand her most of the time. Jane was spoiled and stuck up. She
kup. was rude, and I am honestly relieved she isn’t my mate.

Happy Birthday, son,” My mom said as I walked into the kitchen.
“Thanks, mom,” I said
“DO you feel any different?” My dad asked as I sat next to him at the table.
“Not really,” I replied honestly.
“So, I saw Jane run out of here. I guess she isn’t your mate.” My dad
asked.
“No, we aren’t mates,” I replied

“Thank the goddess,” My mom said, causing me to look at her.
“You are happy?” I asked
“Yes, she wasn’t Luna Material. I see the way she is with the other pack members. I had a feeling she wasn’t your mate,” My mom said
“Yeah, Jane wouldn’t make a good Luna for the pack,” My dad said. I was shocked because they were good friends with Jane’s parents, Beta Kane and Beta Lina. I thought they wanted Jane to be my mate and the future Luna of the pack.
I thought you wanted me to end up with Jane,” I said
“No, we might be close friends with Kane and Linda, but that doesn’t mean we want you to end up with Jane,” my mom said
“Hello, family,” Ella said as she walked into the kitchen. I couldn’t help but glare at her.
“Happy birthday, Sweetheart,” My mom said
“Thanks, mom,” Ella replied
“How are you feeling this morning, princess?” My dad asked
“I feel great. I heard Jane and you arguing earlier. I am sorry that it didn’t work out. How are you feeling about everything?” Ella said as she looked at me. I could tell she meant it by her facial expression.
“Honestly, I feel relieved,” I said truthfully
“Well, I have to get going,” Ella said
“Where are you going?” My mom asked

“I have to go do something. I will be back in time to get ready for the party,” Ella said, and then she looked at me. “Don’t worry, Ethan. Everything happens for a reason. I have a really big feeling that your day will end up great,” Ella said before walking out of the room.
I hoped she was right.
