Chapter 49
Layla pursed her lips. She rebutted, yelling, “I’m going to look for another man!”
Stephen’s face hardened at her reply, and he immediately locked the door.

When she reached out to push him, she found that no matter how she tried, he wouldn’t budge an inch. “Oh, fuckoff!”
There were traces of anger in Stephen’s eyes as he wamed, “Layla, there’s no one to support you here, so stop trying to imitate me repeatedly. If you don’t get back to sleep right now, don’t blame me for getting handsy.”
“Stephen, you better remember how you threatened me today. You’ll pay for it one day,” Layla fumed.
When she woke up the next day, she proceeded to treat Stephen as if he didn’t exist.
She fumbled about her closet for a long time before she found what she was loolding for–the suit and pencil skirt she had bought on impulse.
Both Stephen and Dylan were already having breakfast at the dining table.
Stephen was looking at the newspaper and glanced at his watch for the time. Then, he instructed the maid, “Call Layla down to eat.”
However, before the maid could walk up the stairs, Layla had descended from the stairs. She was donned in a formal suit that accentuated her figure.
Though the plain white buttoned–up shirt would’ve looked ordinary on everyone else, Layla was able to catch Stephen’s attention the moment she wore it.
The perfectly tailored waistline showcased Layla’s curves, and her stunning looks were enhanced by some makeup.
Her long and silky hair was pinned up with a clip, and some of the loose strands framed her face. It gave her a gentle and sophisticated look
Dylan admired Layla’s beauty and genuinely praised, “Aunt Layla, you’re so beautifull”
On the other hand, Stephen put the newspaper aside and said after a while, “Wear something casual to work.”
Of course, Layla pretended to have not heard him and proceeded to take her breakfast. Afterward, she took her car keys and headed out.
The moment Layla returned to yesterday’s workplace, she immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
Benson expressed his admiration. “Wow…”
Sally stood up and praised her as well. “Layla, you’re gorgeous!”
The other woman, who sat on the other end of the couch, took a glance at Layla and sneered, “You’re both sure to be the top sellers next month with how beautifully you’re dressed.”
She had assured that Layla would be Sally’s partner since Sally had shown her the ropes the day before.
But before Layla could speak, Sally rebutted, “You’ve got to have both the skills and hard work to do sales. But it seems like you’re closing off big deals even without having to work hard, Tiffany.”
Tiffany’s expression darkened, and she said, “Let’s not point fingers now, Sally.”
Sally rolled her eyes and told Layla, “Don’t be angry. It’s not worth it.”
Layla smiled and said, “Of course, I wouldn’t be. I’m just glad there’s someone who envies my beauty.”
After she said that, she looked at Tiffany, who had been eyeing her from the day before. Then, she added, “I understand why she’d be envious now that I’ve got a good look at her face.“!
Tittany frowned in confusion. She wasn’t sure precisely what Layla meant,
However, Benson laughed, commenting, “She’s hinting that you’re ugly and envious of her looks.”
“You.” Tiffany wanted to refute, but Jonah entered at that moment.
Usually, there wouldn’t be any customers in the morning, so they were more relaxed. Now that Jonah was here, everyone sat down and waited for him to give them Their schedules.
They acted as if nothing had happened and gathered to wait for Jonah to begin their meeting.
“We’ll separate into groups of two today as well. As usual, the new employees will leam from the older employees. Layla, you’ve got a good outfit, and you’re still grouping with Sally Today,” Jouth sald.
“Alrighe Pill take good care of Layla” Sally nodded with a smile.
