Chapter 52
When Layla bamed back and saw the ear leaving, she snickered silently. Then, she retumed Benson’s coat back to him. “It’s okay. Wear it now,”
Jonah them understood that Layla was provoking Stephen on purpose.
“Go about your business, Jonah. You don’t have to care about me,” she said.
“Oh..” came Jonah’s reply.
When he returned to his office, he called Stephen immediately.
This time, he could hear Stephen’s voice seething! rough his phone as he said, “Speak!”
“Mr. Yates, Ms. Murray knew that you were outside earlier, so she purposely did that to anger you,” Jonah explained.
“I know,” Stephen replied coldly.
Stephenreplied
He knew that Layla wouldn’t cozy up to a man she had barely known for two days. Her insistence on grouping with Benson was definitely because she wanted to Irritate him.
The more be forbade her from getting close to Benson, the more she insisted on doing the opposite, all because she wanted to provoke him.
Clearly, heractions earlier were all a show.
“Huh? Jonah said.
“Keep an eye on Layla and report any abnormalities to me,” Stephen commanded.
“Olay,” Jonah replied.
After he hung up the call, Jonah saw that both Benson and Layla were chatting once again.
“Wait, Layla. What’s wrong with you? Do you really like me?” Benson looked at Layla, repeating, “I mean. I don’t mind if you really like me.
Layla merely glanced at Benson before she said, “I’m married.”
“What?” He exclaimed in surprise.
She stood up and repeated herself. “I said I’m married. I have a husband.”
Afterward, Layla dragged Benson to the seat near the entrance. The moment she saw ac
saw a customer enter, she’d step up and welcome them.
At some point, a number of customers flooded in, so both Layla and Benson had to separate to show the customers around.
Jonah Joltered around the main area from time to time. He noted down what Layla did in case Stephen asked him about it.
After Stephen took his leave, Leyla began to take her work seriously. Though she was a little awkward initially, Benson helped her handle things since he had been there longer than she was.
It helped Layla shake other embarrassment soon enough, and she got to attend to several customers and exchanged numbers with them.
For the entire afternoon, she had either been attending to the customers, reflecting on their information, or pursuing the information on the neighborhood if there was time.
While everyone else ordered takeouts for dinner, Layla dragged Benson out with her to eat,
“It looks like Benson and Layla seemed to get along pretty well. They’re even eating out together while we’re having our takeouts.
“He must have really suffered under my mentorship.” Tiffany said.
Sally replied, “With Layla, at least he wouldn’t need to offer refreshments.”
Benson sat in Layla’s car. He didn’t know what she was trying to do until she drove them to the real estate site.
She repeatedly circled the area a few times until they were somewhat familiar with it. Then, he asked, “Layla, are you really married? You’re not lying, are you?” “stop talking and familiarize yourself with the surroundings. We’ll be able to close a deal tomorrow.” After Layla said that, she continued to google what the terms “Floor Area Ratio“, “Site Coverage“, and “Green Space Ratio” meant
She also searched for the values of these separate indicators for different types of neighborhoods and how they related to one another
“Do we have villa neighborhood as well?” Layla asked, and Benson nodded his head
As such, Layla drove them both there without having their dinner.
Yates, Layla tookBenson out, but I don’t
Once again, Jonah considerately sent a message to Stephen, who held the highest authority in the Murray Group, “Mr. Y know what they’re doing.”
Stephen tightly held onto his phone and replied. ” getin”
