Chapter 55
Benson leaned in closer and asked curiously, “What’s Imitating you?”
“About how I’m lacking money,” Layla sighed.
If she had money, she wouldn’t be sharing a bed with Stephen. Furthermore, she would have spent money at a hotel for the rest of her life just to avoid Stephen.
Too bad she lacked money!
Now, not only must she stay in the same room as him, but she also had to share a bed with him.
When she thought of the man sleeping next to her this morning, she felt the chills and goosebumps over her.
It made her so uncomfortable that her heart almost jumped out.
If she were to wake up to that every day from now, she would probably develop a cardiovascular disease.
Benson thought it was strange and said, “Your husband’s tie is half a year of my salary, so what do you mean you’re lacking money?
“I heard our colleagues gossiping about you yesterday.”
This particular phrase piqued Layla’s interest. “What did they say?”
He kept his eyes on her bag. “They were discussing how much you bought your counterfeit bag for.”
Then, Benson looked at the tie he had put on earlier and said, “But I think if your husband’s able to buy a tie that costs tens of thousands, I’m sure that your bag is genuine as well.
“But they said that your bag is one that was sold in Somersia during the New Year’s. There’s only one of them, so everyone else who owns a bag with this particular design bought a counterfeit.
“That’s why they were saying that you’re shameless for buying a famous counterfelt bag. They said it was way too obvious, and that they could tell at a glance that It was fake”
Layla looked at her limited edition bag. It was true that Somersia only made and sold one of them, and it was only because she wanted it that she got it.
That was the time before she was married, and she had nagged Robert for a bag. “Grandpa, I’m going to get married soon, so why don’t you get me a gift?”
At that time, Somersia only released three limited editions. One was for the royals, and a Somersian noble reserved the other.
The last one was…because she wanted it so badly, Stephen got Somersia to release one more and Intercepted right away the moment they offered it for sale.
When Stephen brought it home and gifted it to her, Layla ran up to hug Robert tightly.
Stephen purposely pulled some strings to get it for you, so go hug him if you wanna hug someone.” Robert said.
Then, Layla rolled her eyes at Robert and took the bag to show it off to her friends.
“Then.. Do they know who bought the genuine bag? Layla raised her brows without a hint of anger.
Benson shook his head and said, “I think Mr. Yates bought it. Someone mentioned that Mr. Yates gitted it to the daughter of the wealthiest family.
“Oh, it’s for his wife. But we wouldn’t know the truth, since it’s all rumors circulated online.”
Layla nodded and said, “That’s true. I’ve also heard that Stephen gifted this bag to his wife.
Benson then said secretly, “Let me tell you. They said that Somersia never intended to release the bag in our country, but because Mr. Yates pulled some strings using his good relations with Somersia, he managed to snag it for his wife.
“Don’t you think he’s super sweet and indulgent to his wife? What a shame, though.”
Layla took the documents on the table and hit Benson with them. “Why are you sighing? Don’t leave your sentence hanging. Speak properly.”
“It’s a shame that Ms. Murray is quite a handful,” Benson said.
Layla went speechless upon hearing what he had to say about her
He continued, “Mr. Yates is handsome, talented, and sweet to his wife. As a man, I’d even like to
marry him.
“But he’s married to the most spolled woman in Somersia. Did you know that Ms. Murray spent her wedding night clubbing?
“She was rumored to be a cheater and a gambling addict. She’s not worthy of Mr. Yates. I don’t understand why Mr. Yates would promise Mr. Murray Senior that he’d marry his granddaughter.”
Benson grew more indignant as he spoke.
