Chapter 63
Layla scratched her head. All her friends in the group chat were talking to her.
“Is it because you keep sticking to him, Layla? Is that why he’s fallen for you?
Sean said with certainty, “It must be. Layla’s so pretty too. Guys would never be able to resist that. If it weren’t for Mr. Murray Senior and Mr. Yates protecting her, 1 would’ve pursued her long ago.”
Austin replied, “Be careful of what you say, Sean.”
If Stephen saw that message, Austin supposed that Peysia Airlines would be destroyed.
Skyler appeared and said, “I think Mr. Yates definitely has feelings for Layla. After all, she’s so flawed, She has a bad temper and a stubbom personality, and she loves to pick fights.
“Anyone else would have gotten fed up with her long ago, but Mr. Yates still wants her by his side. It must be because he likes her.”
Layla was speechless.
“What did you do to make him fall for you, Layla? Were you his secretary? His assistant? Or something else completely?”
Layla was about to send them a message when they continued texting
“I think Layla kicked him out of the office.”
“I think so too.”
They began speculating how much of a tyrant Layla was in the office. They also wondered if she was a manager or an administrative staff and how she had bullied Stephen.
Layla glanced at the sales office. It felt like she couldn’t really say anything in the group chat, so she turned her phone off and sat in the sun alone.
Not long after, she began feeling too hot. So, she walked into the lounge. There was hardly anyone indoors. She lay on the couch and hugged a pillow before falling asleep.
Benson leaned back against the couch after eating. He was trying to search for more gossip, but every website he found no longer had any dirt on Layla Murray. The websites would also sooner or later end up issuing an apology. On top of that, they had to keep the apology up on the homepage for a week, and they would pause all updates until the week was over
The ones that refused to apologize and talked back to Murray Group were faced with cease and desist letters. The rest removed the articles before Murray Group Led their hands on them.
Benson found it astounding. He wanted to talk about it with Layla, but she was asleep.
It was the weather malding her sleepy. She couldn’t even open her eyes. Although it was a little chilly outside, sunshine spilled into the building, warming it up, Layla’s head was resting against the glass. She wasn’t cold even though she was wearing a skirt.
It seemed that every time she thought about Stephen, she would fall asleep.
Not long after, the other employees were affected by Layla. They found a couch somewhere and fell asleep too.
Just then, Jonah appeared and swept a glance around the room before going back to the office. He didn’t usually get off work so late, but now that the advertisement was out, more customers were filing in So, he had to stay in the office even after hours.
In the attemoon, he held a meeting. He knew that everyone was tired, so he said encouragingly, “Everything will go back to normal after t everyone.”
Layla was refreshed after the nap
Usually, she would bicker with Benson when she was bored
this month. Keep it up.
She later learned that Benson had only approached her to talk to her on her first day of work because he didn’t want to be at the bottoms of the pyramid. He wanted a dumber newcomer to accompany him.
Once she leamed that, she smacked him with the pamphlets.
After achieving their first sale, they finally figured things out. By worlding together, they managed to seal the deal on more sales in the afternoon.
