Chapter 67
Layla gently ruffled Dylan’s fluffy hair. “Your mom just got out of the hospital. You should go home and take care of her. I’ll be heading off to work now.”
Dylan was getting a ride to the hospital with Stephen. He rolled down the car window and looked at Layla, who was in the other car, as he shouted, “Aunt Layla, I’m going to miss you!”
Layla let out a laugh and said, “I won’t miss you at all.” Then, she started her car and headed off to work.
When Layla arrived at the sales office, her mind immediately flashed back to Stephen’s words the night before and his promise that if she became the top saleswoman, he would transfer her out.
Benson jolted Layla out of her daydream as he asked, “Layla, did you leave your mind on vacation?
Layla rolled her eyes at him. “Benson, come over here. I need to ask you something ”
Denson Jeaned over.
“How long will it take for us to become the top salespeople? Layla asked.
Benson asked, “Are you out of your mind? Are you daydreaming? Did yesterday’s events make you this confident?”
Layla raised her hand as if to intimidate him. “Stop stalling. Just give me a straight answer,”
Benson grabbed a piece of paper and began calculating with Layla. “Being the top salesperson means having the highest sales for the month. Right now, we only have seven orders from yesterday. Let me figure out Sally’s and Tiffany’s sales.”
He scribbled some numbers on the paper, but Layla couldn’t make sense of them. When he was done, he gave her the final Layla immediately tore up the paper. “Life isn’t just about numbers, and calculations can’t predict everything. Data is only a reference. How do you

Layla raised an eyebrow. The thought of Stephen didn’t bother her as much now. “Why do you say that?” “Because he’s spoiled you so much that you’ve become naive.”

Benson said, “That shouldn’t happen. With you being so attractive, how could Stephen bear to send you a

Benson backed away and stopped tallong
Layla soon realized that success in this field also depended on a bit of luck. For instance, she might be the top salesperson one day, only to find herself at the bottom the next.
Nevertheless, she managed to achieve a number of sales every day.

She was gradually leaming the ins and outs of the industry and had moved past exhausted or drained.
Layla had successfully refined her skills in communication, work, and reading people.
The only thing troubling Layla was the persistent rumor among her colleagues that she was involved with someone from the higher–ups at Aetheris Group. Some of them said that the manager treated herwell because the man backing her was a senior leader at Aetherls Group, and the manager didn’t want to risk offending

This also explained why the manager still treated Layla with respect even though she had initially been so arrogant
When Layla wasn’t around, some of them even took the opportunity to ask Benson, “Which senior executive is backing Layla?”
“Mind your own business. She has a legitimate husband.” Benson showed no patience for such rumors
“Just becau

Although Benson was unsure about Layla’s background, he defended her against the rumors.
After sperating so many days together, Benson had come to understand Layla’s temperament. If she were indeed being supported by a man, that man had to have a
