Jonah explained to Layla, “Ms. Murray, our policy is to first ask clients if they’ve been here before and if they’ve been in contact with anyone. If they have, we automatically assign them back to the previous person in charge. Special cases are handled differently.”
“And what constitutes a special case?” asked Layla.
“I don’t care about this particular deal. Even if it closes, the reward isn’t enough for a meal. You know Tiffany has done this before, right? She forced Sally into a comer and took her clients, and Benson’s clients ended up hers as well. You’re letting this happen.”
“This… This isn’t something we can control,” Jonah stammered,
a steely gaze. “So, you’re just going to let everyone steal each other’s deals?”

Benson was distraught, not just by the lost deal but by Tiffany’s manipulation. “Layla, I’m really grateful that you brought me onto your team. Otherwise, I’d worry that I might end up like Tiffany, focused solely on closing sales without considering the real needs of our clients.”
Layla glanced at Tiffany, who was basking in her smug victory. “This deal is far from over. Trust me, it’s going to be a mess.
Benson nodded in agreement. “It’s bound to cause trouble.”
Just then, Sally approached with two cups of water. “What kind of trouble?”

She sat up and didn’t hide her thoughts. “Tiffany doesn’t take the clients‘ real needs into account when selling houses. What’s worse, the client’s son wasn’t even there, yet they were tricked into signing and paying.
“The combined pension of these two elderly people doesn’t cover even a single month’s mortgage for the house. Their son works out of town, and while his income is decent, the mortgage and hefty down payment could turn them from a comfortable family into a struggling one.
“They initially needed a small apartment for simple decoration as a wedding house. Since their son lives elsewhere after matlage, a smaller two–bedroom would have been easier to sell later if needed
