Layla gazed at Sally, whose words carried a double meaning “Sally, you seem to be hinting at something.”
She was unsure it Sally’s words were intentional or merely an innocent slip,
Sally kept her smile steady. “Oh, really? I don’t see it that way.”
Layla picked up on Sally’s evasiveness but decided to let it go. She smiled and said, “Let’s get back to work. I can’t let this mess derail my goal of becoming the top salesperson. The sooner I achieve that, the sooner I can move on from this grind.”

Sally nodded encouragingly. “Keep going, Layla. You’re sharp and adaptable, and with Benson’s patience and attitude, you two make a strong got what it takes to be the top salespeople.”
After Sally left, Benson turned to Layla “Is becoming the top salesperson really your goal?”
Layla replied, “Stephen said that if I become the top seller, he’ll transfer me to another position.”
She sighed, knowing this was going to be her real challenge.
Later in the afternoon, when she finally had a moment to herself, she called Dylan. “Are you at the welfare home yet?”
“Aunt Layla, we’re here! Two ladies were helping Mom and me clean up, and now we’re having lunch at Madam Thome’s house.”
Dylan answered Layla in his childish voice.
Layla then asked, “And what about Stephen?”
“Daddy left a while ago.” Dylan replied
Maya, who overheard the conversation, chimed in, “Layla, when will you visit again? The kids have been asking about you nonstop, and they even asked Stephen earlier when you’d be bark”
Layla felt the weight of being a role model for the children. “Madam Thorne, I’m swamped with work right now, but I’ll visit as soon as I can.”
Maya smiled warmly and said, “Stephen was just saying how your positive attitude at work sets a great example for the kids.”
Layla blushed. She didn’t quite see herself as a role model, but Stephen seemed determined to cast her in that light, “Madam Thorne, I need to get back to work. Let’s catch up soon.‘

After hanging up, Layla took a deep breath and returned to work
Her and Benson’s fears were soon realized.
The following day, two angry individuals stormed into the office, accompanied by the elderly couple from the previous day.

Just then, a man named jeremiah Jenkins, who was in his 30s, barged in. “Who convinced my parents to buy a house yesterday? The person’s name on WhatsApp is Benson, and there was a woman involved too.”
The lobby fell silent as everyone turned their gazr toward Layla and Benson.
Sally quickly stepped in, “Sir, please calm down. Layla and Benson weren’t responsible for your parents‘ transaction yesterday.”
The elderly couple realized their mistake. They looked at Layla and Benson and quietly clarified, “We added Benson on WhatsApp, but we didn’t buy the house from them. Two other women recommended it tous”
Meanwhile, Tiffany, who sensed the impending trouble, was hiding in a comer. She was too intimidated to face the enraged man.
