Vivian and Zed had been childhood sweethearts. They agreed to go to the same university and get married after graduation.
However, Vivian’s parents disagreed and insisted on letting her go abroad, so they broke up because of
this.
Zed thought that Vivian loved him. But would a woman who truly loved him abandon him and choose to go abroad?
Vivian was also stupid. She thought I snatched Zed away, but she didn’t even check how Zed had been pursuing me back then.
I knew what they were thinking.
Zed couldn’t get the woman he loved when he was young and wanted to make up for the regret.
Vivian felt that the man who belonged to her had married someone else, and she couldn’t wait to get
him back.
Maybe there was still love between them, but it was no longer the same as before.
If they got together, quarrels and conflicts were inevitable and their relationship wouldn’t last long. But it had nothing to do with me.
I received a call at night, and the person said he was a security guard at a bar.
“You are Zed’s wife, right? He caused trouble in the bar and has been detained. You need to
compensate for the losses. Otherwise, we will call the police.”
Did Zed think of me in this situation?
“I don’t care.” I hung up the phone.
I didn’t care at all how they dealt with Zed. Didn’t he think that Vivian loved him very much? He should ask Vivian for help.
In the early morning when I was half asleep, I heard a loud knock on the door.
I opened the door and saw Zed, who was drunk and standing outside.
“Nancy!”
He pushed the door hard and tried to get in.
I wanted to stop him, but he was stronger than usual. As a woman, I couldn’t stop him at all. As soon as he came in, he hugged me.
“What are you doing? Let me go.”
I pinched and tickled him.
He felt pain but didn’t let me go. Instead, he threw me to the ground.
“Nancy, I don’t want to divorce you. I’ve figured it out. The person I truly love is you.”
Hearing his words, I felt like nauseating.
He was so disgusting.
What did he treat me as? He threw me aside when he had Vivian, but now he said he loved me. How could there be such a disgusting man in the world?
I slapped him hard on the face.
Zed became much soberer and quickly stood up.
“I’m sorry, Nancy. I was drunk.”
Being drunk was never an excuse.
With cold eyes, I stood up and tugged at the strap of my pajamas that had been pulled off. “Leave here now!”
“Nancy!”
“Get out!” I repeated.
He looked at me pleadingly.
“Just let me stay here for one night, please.”
I knew what he was thinking.
“You’re not leaving, right? Okay, I’ll leave.”
“No. I’m leaving.”
He staggered to the door and turned to look at me.
“Nancy, is there no possibility for us?”
“No.”
I refused coldly without any hesitation.
A heart that had been broken could never be healed.
I was covered in bruises and had finally climbed out of the abyss of pain. I wouldn’t fall into it again. I wouldn’t fall in the same place twice.”
Zed said nothing more and staggered out of the door.
I kept looking at his hunched back until he disappeared. He didn’t regret it until he lost me.
It was too late.
There was not a chance again.
