Chapter 29
Unfortunately, Kimberly didn’t see Hank wink at her because all her attention was on Pierre right now.
Actually, Pierre had always been indifferent to her, but she didn’t think it was a problem until Angela’s appearance.
Pierre glanced at Kimberly, Although he was unhappy, his attitude softened a lot.
“This silly girl thinks her scheming sister will be nice to her as long as she swallows the humiliation. She’s so naive! She’s no match for Angela in playing tricks,” he thought.
“Someone else will accompany you. Hank, tell Angela to go to the designated hospital for an entry physical examination.”
After giving the order, Pierre walked into the elevator and left.
Hank had to take care of the aftermath.
He looked at Kimberly’s wrist.
Even though he didn’t see any bruises on her fair, tender skin, he still asked, “Miss Simpson, do you want me to take you to the hospital?”
Kimberly thought, “This guy is so easy to fool! He believed it when I said I sprained my wrist.” She wanted to shoot Hank a glare, but after all, he was Pierre’s assistant, so she just dropped the idea.
“Don’t bother. Mr. Millan, why do Gem suddenly require new employees to take a physical examination?” she said politely.
Hank knew nothing about it either. In the past, Mr. Louise rarely got involved in Gem’s business, but Louise Group did have that requirement.
He replied with a smile, “An entry physical examination is to reduce the risk of employees contracting infectious diseases. Miss Simpson, if there’s nothing else, I’ll get going.”
Hank found it increasingly harder to understand his boss’s thoughts.
If he just wanted to inform Angela about the check–up, there was no need for him to come personally.
She was a little puzzled as well. Shouldn’t it be completed before the employee started working?
If a new member of staff was found to have an infectious disease, would the company terminate the contract and pay the penalty fee?
The two kids in Sunny Kindergarten were also asked to have a physical examination.
As soon as Charlie slipped out of the gate, Wilfred grabbed him by the collar and took him to the principal’s office.
Mason was so nervous that she was sweating all over. It seemed like she was very likely to be fired.
These two naughty kids knew how to play tricks! She couldn’t afford the consequences if something happened to Charlie.
Wilfred began lecturing the twins with a straight face.
In order to let them learn their lesson, he made up his mind not to show mercy, even if they begged him or acted cute to please him.
“Grandpa!” However, when Danielle called out to him, he felt like his heart was melting.
An amiable smile immediately appeared on his originally serious face. Instead of lashing out at the kids, he began to reason with them patiently.
Mason immediately figured out how important they were to him.
It seemed like Sunny Kindergarten needed to pay special attention to the twins in the future. Thinking of this, she secretly wiped away her sweat.
Before Mason could put down her hand, she saw Pierre at the door.
She was so surprised that she even forgot to greet him. “So the twins are Pierre’s children. No wonder Mr. Wilfred Louise cares so much about
them.”
Mason thought and began to curse herself inwardly again for her negligence at work.
Charlie took a look at the strange man sitting opposite him, then looked down silently.
He knew that this person was Pierre, their mother’s boss, who was very likely to be their irresponsible father.
Danielle who was sitting next to Charlie, looked at him and then at the man opposite them.

They did look alike. Their facial features were similar and they both looked aloof.
Pierre was also looking at the siblings seriously. His face was grim, without a trace of a smile.
Danielle took a few glances at him and suddenly burst into crying.
Wilfred picked her up and asked anxiously, “Danielle, why are you crying?”
“Grandpa, this man is so fierce. I’m scared.” The little girl sobbed as she spoke.
“This man?” Mason was confused. “Shouldn’t the kids call him Dad? Could it be that the twins are Chase’s kids? But why do they look so similar to Pierre?” she wondered.
Wilfred couldn’t bear to see Danielle cry, so he immediately comforted her, “Don’t be afraid. Grandpa is here.
He then turned to Pierre and said angrily, “They’re just kids. Do you think they’re your employees? Why are you pulling a long face?”
He felt a little helpless. He was just used to wearing a poker face.
He forced a smile and said to Mason, “I’ll send someone to pick them up for a physical examination tomorrow. Don’t let them have breakfast.”
It was a normal procedure for the kids to take a physical examination before entering kindergarten.
Mason nodded without giving it much thought.
Wilfred said, “I’ll take the kids home now and send them for their check–up tomorrow.”
Pierre glanced at his father and did not object.
Danielle immediately stopped crying and put her arms around Wilfred’s neck, asking softly, “Grandpa, are you serious?”
He held her back and replied, “Sure.”
He wanted to say, “I want you two to move into our family’s house.”
Danielle straightened her back and jumped up cheerfully in Wilfred’s arms. “Charlie, we can go to Grandpa’s house!”
He gave her a look as if to say, “Come on, don’t make it so exaggerated!”
She was sure she was doing the right thing. If they could go to Wilfred’s house, it would be easy for them to get Pierre’s hair.
She suddenly turned around, put her arms around Wilfred’s neck, and said in a sweet voice, “Grandpa, I’m so happy! Grandpa, I like you so much!”
Wilfred grew even more excited.
He patted the little girl’s back gently and said, “I like you very much as well. I’ll ask the chef to cook a lot of delicious food for you when we get home.”
Listening to their conversation, Charlie sat quietly on the side, with his face full of disdain.
Pierre looked at the boy who resembled him very much in appearance and asked, “Why don’t you go talk to Grandpa Wilfred?”
Charlie glanced at him without saying anything, still looking distant and aloof.
The softest part of Pierre’s heart was touched by the look on the boy’s face.
He was just like Charlie when he was a kid. His parents always said that he was distant, but only he knew that he was just too shy to talk to other people.
Pierre bent down and stretched his arms towards Charlie. “Do you want me to hold you?”
His words attracted Wilfred’s attention.
Charlie also looked at him in surprise. After hesitating for a second, the kid stood up and threw himself into Pierre’s arms.
He wouldn’t let go of such a good chance to get Pierre’s hair.
With a smile on his face, Charlie stroked Pierre’s carefully combed hair.
He quickly turned his head away and grabbed the boy’s hands.
He paid attention to his image and wouldn’t let anyone mess up his hair.

Pierre’s soft heart hardened again and he returned to his indifferent self.
Charlie was scared by his grim face. After all, he was still a child.
He tried his best to hold back his tears and struggled to break free from Pierre’s embrace.
Wilfred’s heart ached at the sight of his grandson’s pale face. He hurriedly put Danielle down‘ and picked Charlie up.
He then glared at Pierre and complained, “What are you doing? You scared my grandson!”
Mason wondered in confusion, “Gosh! Whose children are these twins?”
However, no matter whose children they were, she had to give them special attention in the future.
Pierre also realized that he had overreacted. But in the past 28 years, no one had ever dared to mess up his hair.
He didn’t think he deserved to be blamed.
