Chapter 46
Ronald seemed to have read her mind. He pushed up his black–framed glasses and asked with a smile, “Miss Simpson, how about you give it a second thought?”
polite and distant. It was different from the smile he had when she took her seat a moment ago.
Kimberly didn’t notice that. She was just relieved.
This was what she wanted, but the price didn’t work for her.
With a fleeting sly look in her eyes, she said in a sweet voice, “Mr. Tinsley, this necklace is passed down from my
y ancestors. It’s very important”
She didn’t mention if she would reconsider his offer. As a Business major, she knew how to negotiate to get a good price.
Ronald was still smiling as he said. “I understand. My request is too rude.”
He asked about the management of Beach and talked about the interesting things in her grandmother’s family and some legendary stories about
Pierre.
The dinner ended in a seemingly relaxed and harmonious manner.
Kimberly enjoyed chatting with Ronald, ignorant of the fact that the latter had known a lot about her through some investigation.
When he returned to his office. Ronald began going through Kimberly’s information.
So far, he was not sure if she was the person he was looking for.
But there was one thing he couldn’t figure out I was true that the necklace was women’s jewelry. But according to the tradition of the Darsonas, shouldn’t such a valuable thing be passed to the men in the Hardy family despite that they were good for nothing!
While Ronald was absorbed in his thought, his phone began buzzing
He looked at the caller ID and frowned. “What’s the matter?”
“Ronald, I’m at Tervais International Airport. Come pick me up!”
A girl’s pleasant voice came from the other end of the line.
“Selena, do you know how old you are? Hail a cab and come here!”
Ronald was speechless about his sister. She was already 24 years old, but she relied on her family so much that she wanted them to help her with everything.
He wondered what she had told to their family to let them come here.
“Ronald, are you really going to leave me here alone?”
The girl’s pitiful voice came from the other end of the line.
Ronald adjusted his glasses. Anyway, he was her brother.
In the end, he gave in and said, “I’ll ask Shirley to pick you up there.”
“Okay. Thank you, Ronald! I know yo
you!
care about me! Love you!”
His sister kissed him through the phone.
Ronald blushed, but he still said in an impassive tone, “You’re already at the age to marry, yet you still act like a kid”
Selena Tinsley giggled and said in a playful tone. “Did you blush, Ronald? I stop this when you get married. Bye!”
At Tervals International Airport.
Shirley saw Selena with red hair from a distance. She raised the pick–up sign above her hand.
She didn’t understand why there would be such a weirdo in a notable family like the Tinsley family.
Catching sight of the pick–up sign, Selena ran towards Shirley. She called out, “Hi, Shirley!”
Chapter 10
Shirley took her hogage and said with a smile. “Selena, ido you want to go straight to your brother’s hotel?
“No, Shurley Ive rented an apartment in Trivais” Seleus replied.
Upon hearing this. Shirley took a look at her. She wondered in confusion, “Why did she get an apartment here?
Shirley asked in surprise, “Are you planning to stay here for a while?”
“That’s right” Selena replied matter–of–factly. “Il my brother could find a law bruliere, why can’t Dopeit an art gallery liere?”
Shirley could already imagine what her boss would look like when he heard the news
Smiling at Seliqua, she said, “If you need any help, please let me knowe”
Selena smiled back at her and said, “I decided to settle downs here for two reasons. I’m curious about the person Ronald is looking for. And more importantly, I want to help you?
“What Shirley exclaimed with a puzzled look.
Selena responded. “I think you and Ronald are the perfect match. Fll help you win over him
Her statement shocked Shirley: What was on her mind?
“Selena.
I’m not into your
your brother. He’s just my bow, Shirley hurriedly clarified. She had never thought about crawling into her boss bed.
“Seriously! Ronald is handsome, nch and loyal. Do you really have no feelings for him?”
Selena didn’t want to give up setting Shirley and her brother up.
In her eyes, Ronald was the best man in the world, even better than her father though her father treated her better than him.
Shirley feh alle embarrassed by Selena’s words. She said, “Your brother is a good boss”
Selena sighed and said, “Poor Ronald. He is just a good boss to you. And you even haven’t seen him as your friend.”
Shirley knew Selena inside and out. She had to change the topic. “What are your plans for the gallery? Do you need my help?”
Speaking of her gallery, Selena got excited and kept talking about it. Shirley listened to her while driving the car. Most of the time, she made a good listener. And sometimes, she would give some advice
Not until the next day did Ronald learn that his sister planned to open a gallery in Tervais,
Selena sat opposite him with a wide grin, and her purpose was to get money from her brother. “Ronald, I’m going to start a business. How much are you planning to invest in it?”
spat out several words. “Your business plan.”
Ronald looked indifferent and simply sp
He knew his sister too well. She always gave up halfway. If he invested in her gallery, it was very possible that he wouldn’t get his money back.
Since she also knew her brother, Selena was well prepared. She took out a business plan and handed it to Ronald. With a snor, she thought, “It’s just a business plan. Do you think I can’t write one!”
Ronald read through the proposal carefully. It seemed that his sister was serious this time, at least the business plan was elaborate.
Selena intended to promote her classes free of charge. Although it was old–fashioned, it was effective.
Ronald looked up at Selena and asked, “Did y
| you get employees!”
Selena shook her head and said. “Tll post the recruitment information when I get your investment. If I don’t hire people, how am I gonna do all -on my own?”
Ronald looked at his sister with appreciation. Although he was tough to her, he also doted on her.
He asked considerately, “Have you rented a house? Do you need any help!”
Selena replied playfully. “I don’t need anything now except money. When will you transfer the money to me?
Ronald returned the business plan to Selena, adjusted his glasses and said, “I won’t give you money. But there is an empty floor below my law firm
You can use it for free.”
Selena thought, Ill be no fun to be under your watch.”
Despite that, she negotiated, “just one floor? In that case, you need to give me 200 thousand dollarsTM
Chapter 46
Speechless, Ronald pondered, “If I let her open her gallery on that floor for free and even give her 200 thousand dollars, she won’t need to pay a penny. In that case, it’ll be me starting a business and let her take care of it.”
Ronald cast her a stare and said. “Don’t even think about it.”
Then 160 thousand dollars” she said.
40 thousand dollars”
140 thousand dollars!”
*10 thousand dollars.”
100
thousand dollars.”
“No. 40 thousand dollars”
“This isn’t how bargaining works. When I lower my y quote, you should raise the money, Selena shouted with dissatisfaction.
With a smile on his face, Ronald looked at his sister who was driven crazy by him. He stressed, “I’ll give you 10 thousand dollars at most.”
“Come on. Getting the place furnished alone will take more than 40 thousand dollars is not enough,”
30 thousand dollars”
“Alright, alright. 10 thousand dollars then. Transfer the money now.”
“Go let Shirley do the transfer.”
“Ronald, Shirley is in charge of your money? Is she my future sister–in–law?”
“80 thousand dollars.”
Selena yielded immediately. Ronald, I’m going to Shirley and let her transfer 40 thousand dollars to me.”
