Chapter 55
The party started on time. Whether by accident or design, Angela, Elsie, Pierre, and Hugh were seated together.
Kimberly and George sat somewhere else.
This displeased Kimberly badly. She thought, “Why should that bitch Angela get an invitation and sit with Pierre while I can only sit at a table with a bunch of unknown people on the edge!”
She seemed to have forgotten that in these unknown prople’s eyes, the Simpson family was not even eligible to be here
“Why did they come to the party? Is the barrier so low now!”
“It’s all because of, you know… But why aren’t they sitting together!”
The people at the same table whispered. They didn’t dare to offend that man and didn’t even dare to say his name, but everyone knew who they were referring to..
Kimberly looked sullen but George was completely different. He knew that his tablemates despised them and that his uncle was actually nothing in the rich and powerful circle of Tervals.
But since he had been here on this rare opportunity, he would never give up so easily.
So, he picked up his glass and said. “Everyone, I’m George Simpson, a new kid on the block. It’s an honor to meet all of you! Cheers!”
He raised his hand and emptied the wine in his glass.
The others at the table looked at each other. One picked up his glass and took a sip, then the others did the same.
Even so, they responded only for the sake of Mr. Louise.
They wondered, “Kimberly is not sitting at the same table with Mr. Louise, and Miss Burke is back ahead of schedule. Does it mean that Kimberly will be dumped by Mr. Louise soon!”
They unconsciously looked at the main table in the distance.
The atmosphere over there was even more awkward
Chase didn’t know that the organizer would arrange for Angella to sit at the main table.
He couldn’t allow Pierre to have any contact with Angela, so he sat down next to her first.
No one there had any objections, except for Pierre
Pierre asked Elsie who was on the other side of Angela, “Miss Stone, would you mind changing seats with me?”
Elsie was so embarrassed that she didn’t know if she should agree or not.
It was because Pierre’s seat was next to Pearl’s.
She wondered, “What is Pierre up to? He can change seats with others if he doesn’t want to sit with Pearl. Why did he ask me in front of Do I look like a pushover?
everyone?
Hearing that, Selena, who was sitting at an adjoining table, walked straight over and said, “You need to change seats? I’ll change seats with you! You can sit with my brother. He’s very…”
Pierre looked at the red–haired girl who came out of nowhere and the air around him became colder.
He thought. “Angela is the mother of my children. She can’t be all lovey–dovey with other men, even if it’s Chase.
And who is this red–hair! What’s she doing?
The red–haired Selena felt the hostility in the man’s eyes. She was about to put some good words for Ronald, but before his gaze, her voice softened unconsciously and she was no longer as confident as she had been.
Ronald followed her over when he saw his sister’s reckless behavior.
He explained to Pierre, “Sorry, Mr. Louise. Please forgive my sister’s blunt manner.”

The moment Pierre saw Ronald, he stopped emitting coldness.
He thought, “So the red–hair is from the Tinsley family. No wonder she’s bold.”
Selena looked at her brother with dissatisfaction. She pouted and muttered, I’m not being blunt. I just want to sit with Angle and Elsie”
In the short period of time before the party, Selena had already regarded Angela and Elsie as her friends, so she hoped to spend more time with them.
Pearl, who didn’t look well because Pierre proposed to change his seat, stood up and said, “Miss, I can change seats with you if you don’t mind.”
Although she said so, she kept looking at Pierre, thinking, “Does this cold–hearted man really dislike me so much?
If so, he shouldn’t have talked to me at the door! No, he shouldn’t have talked to me when we were young!”
Pearl couldn’t remember exactly when she fell in love with him.
Those friends of hers were all obedient to her and treated her as a little princess. Only Pierre had always been indifferent.
Perhaps it was because Pierre was so special that she fell for him without a warning. And she still loved him without hesitation after he refused to marry her.
She had many wooers but no one could beat Pierre.
For him, she finished her graduation defense in advance and returned home in a hurry. She wanted to get this man back! And she was confident she could do that!
She thought, “If Pierre really liked Kimberly, that low–class woman, he would have married her a long time ago! That stupid woman is still gloating secretly!”
two voices stopped her at the same
Sering that someone finally volunteered to change seats with her, Selena was about to agree happily before two v time
“No, thank you”
“No need.”
It was her brother and the man who wanted to change seats in the first place.
Selena was furious. She thought, “Why? I’m the one who wants to change seats. Why did you make decisions for me? Did any of you ever think of asking for my opinion?”
Ronald took Selena by the hand and brought her back to her seat. He blamed himself for spoiling her so much that she forgot some etiquette.
Pierre also returned to his seat. He looked at Pearl who was still standing and said, “Don’t overthink it.”
Pearl was stunned. She knew Pierre too well. He never explained himself or comforted others.
She wondered, “What did he mean? Was he trying to comfort me or explain himself?”
People at Kimberly’s table looked over and saw Pierre and Pearl standing together. One wore a black suit and one was in a white dress, looking like a perfect match.
“It seems that Mr. Louise has made up his mind, someone whispered.
“Yeah, Miss Burke’s family background and scholarly attainments are unrivaled.
The speaker then cast a meaningful look at Kimberly, as if he hadn’t made himself clear enough.
Kimberly clenched her fists under the table, swearing that she would definitely make those who looked down on her regret it!

She picked up her g
At the main table, there was a continuous stream of people coming and toasting. Although Pierre was a cold person, Chase and Hugh were also well–known young men in Tervais.
What’s more, August, CEO of the party organizer Crush, was also at this table.
When Kimberly came over, she could only stand aside and wait. But there was no way she

Chapter 55
Her eyesores, Pearl and Angela, were currently chatting and laughing at the main table while she was standing on the side like some servant.
Kimberly gritted her teeth, and an idea came to her mind
She was in no hurry to toast August and the others. Instead, she walked up to Angela.
She said, “Angie, we haven’t had a good meal together since you came home. I’d like to take this opportunity today to propose a toast to you.”
Angela had not expected that at all. She thought, “What’s she up to now?”
But she had to behave properly at her company’s party. What’s more, everyone knew that Kimberly was her younger sister.
So she picked up her glass and rose to her feet. Yet “unsurprisingly, her shoulder somehow bumped into Kimberly’s arm and a glass of red wine was poured onto her chest.
Im sorry, Angie. I didn’t mean it”
Kimberly apologized in a panic and hurriedly took out a tissue to wipe Angela clean.
