Chapter 105
“Stop it, I’m cooking. Keep your hands off me,” Marrie scolded.
But Steven was not one to give up easily.
Marrie knew she had completely surrendered to Steven. She threw away all pretense and fully unleashed her true nature.
Late at night, Marrie fell asleep in Steven’s arms.
As usual, Steven left the Qualls residence before dawn, returning to Imperial Villas.
He went to Purple Haze Mountain to practice the Double Pupil Technique. Scarlett had arrived at the peak even earlier than Steven.
“Madam Fischer, good morning,” Steven greeted.
Scarlett nodded slightly in response.
After dispersing the purple energy, Steven approached Scarlett again.

“Madam Fischer, I practiced the Nimble technique you taught me yesterday. Please give me more guidance,” Steven said.
“You are indeed a diligent student. Let’s begin.” Scarlett smiled.
Steven utilized the Thundering Fury Method. His speed boosted drastically as he concentrated all his strength into his fists.
His combat power had improved significantly compared to yesterday. But Scarlett still evaded effortlessly, and Steven’s fist barely grazed her nose.
Steven attacked relentlessly while Scarlett defended. But no matter how fierce his attacks, he couldn’t land a hit on Scarlett. Instead, she pushed him back with a palm strike.
“Not bad. Your speed and reflexes have greatly improved,” Scarlett praised.
“Unfortunately, I’m still not fast enough. I can’t even touch the hem of your garment.”
Rumors in the martial world claimed Scarlett was the weakest of the Four Grandmasters. Her level was the fourth–level master. After two days of sparring, Steven was certain that her power surpassed that of a sixth–level master.
“With your current skills, you can battle a fifth–grade master,” Scarlett said.
Steven attacked again, eager to receive guidance from such a formidable master.
“Your Nimble technique is good, top–tier, but you still need more practice.” Scarlett gave her feedback after exchanging nearly 100 moves.
They then distanced themselves from each other.
“This is called the Thundering Fury Method.”
“It’s getting late, so I’ll head down. Keep practicing. Combine the Nimble technique with your powerful and aggressive powers, then you can battle above your rank,” Scarlett said.
“Thank you for your guidance, Madam Fischer,” Steven said, nodding respectfully.
After Scarlett left, Steven practiced the Thundering Fury Method in the forest until noon. Then, he descended the mountain.
In the afternoon, Noel called Steven and invited him to dinner, to which Steven readily agreed. When they met, Noel hugged Steven tightly.
“Steven, long time no see. I’ve missed you so much,” Noel said warmly.
“Don’t be so mushy, I can’t handle it,” Steven replied, patting Noel’s back.
Noel punched Steven’s arm playfully and they smiled at each other.
“You’ve got some guts to invite a junkie and a gambling addict like me out for dinner. Aren’t you afraid I’ll ask you for money?” Steven teased.
“Ask and I’ll try my best to get you any amount. Even if I have to sell everything, I’ll get it for you. You’re no addict or gambler. I don’t believe that crap,” Noel said.
“With those words, that’s enough. Let’s go drink.” Steven linked arms with Noel and went into a restaurant.
“Steven, where were you these past two years? I couldn’t reach you,” Noel asked.
“The death of my parents hit me hard. So I went to a monastery in another city to isolate myself from the world. I meditated for two years there,” Steven replied.
“Well, that’s good for you. You were cultivating mind and body. You look great now,” Noel said, raising his glass.
They drank and chatted happily. Steven cherished having such a good friend like Noel.
After dinner, Noel suggested going to karaoke and Steven agreed.
Noel took him to an upscale business establishment.
In the underground parking lot, they happened to run into Yasmine. “Yas, what are you doing here?” Noel asked.
Yasmine seemed a bit uneasy, glancing at Steven. “I came to meet a friend. Are you two headed to Joy Club to sing?”
Joy Club was a famous entertainment venue in Levix City. Yasmine knew exactly what kind of place it was.
Steven didn’t mind. It was normal to go out for fun. He didn’t want to hide it either.
But Noel quickly said, “Of course not. Why would we go to a place like Joy Club? We’re here to meet someone too.”
Yasmine smiled knowingly. “It’s fine to have fun. A little entertainment comes with business socializing. It’s normal. Aren’t you a regular there?”
“You’re mistaken, Yas! I’ve never been to Joy Club. How could I be a regular?” Noel vehemently denied.

“Alright, you two have fun then. I have something to take care of.” Yasmine headed straight for the elevator, not intending to go with them.
“Damn it! Why did Yasmine have to run into us? She must think I’m some player out having a good time,” Noel said in frustration.
“Aren’t you?” Steven teased.
“Just playing the part,” Noel replied.
“Do you like Yasmine?”
“Isn’t that obvious? But I heard she’s dating Jace, so it looks like I don’t stand a chance.”
Noel had secretly liked Yasmine since school but never confessed.
“Steven, Joy Club and a hotel are upstairs. Yasmine came alone at this hour. Don’t you think she’s meeting Jace for some… activities?” Noel looked jealous. “That jerk, Jace! How could Yasmine date him?”
“Don’t worry, they won’t last. I’d say they’re probably no longer together.”
After the incident at Purple Haze Mountain, given Yasmine’s personality, Steven believed that she wouldn’t stay with Jace.
But Noel’s offhand comment made Steven wonder what Yasmine was doing here.
Moreover, Steven noticed her nervous and flustered demeanor, which wasn’t her usual self. It seemed like something was bothering her.
