Chapter 106
“Noel, since you like Yasmine, why don’t you confess to her?” Steven asked.
“She doesn’t like me back. Wouldn’t confessing just embarrass me?” Noel replied.

“How do you know she won’t like you if you don’t confess? Don’t you have the courage?” Steven teased.
“Sometimes it’s better to keep feelings to yourself. It’s not necessary to seek an outcome. If I don’t say it, we’re still friends. If I confess and get rejected, we may not even be that. I’ll wish Yasmine well, but it irks me to see her dating someone like Jace,” Noel said.
“Jace may be richer, but when it comes to character, he’s even less deserving of Yasmine than I am.” Noel smiled wryly.
“Suit yourself. You’re not a child anymore. As long as you have your plan regarding this, it’s fine,” Steven concluded.
Steven and Noel entered the elevator, heading straight to the Joy Club.
Noel was indeed a regular here. The madam of the hostesses warmly greeted Noel as they entered. She was heavily made–up with a slender figure and sauntered in wearing a revealing dress.
Having seen Rose in a similar dress, the madam’s version was more tawdry. It gave Steven a sense of faded glory and diminished refinement.
Once inside the private room, the madam quickly arranged for a group of young, and beautiful women to line up. One by one, women in figure–hugging attire introduced themselves from left to right.
“Steven, you pick first,” Noel said.
Steven didn’t mind going along with the bit of social pretense when it came to having fun.
He scanned the lineup. The women eagerly pushed out their chests, eyes glistening as they gazed at Steven.
All except for one who kept her head down and her hands behind her back, not meeting his eyes.
Aware it was Steven’s first time at such an establishment, the madam quietly explained, “Steven, the girls with their hands in front are more experienced. They’re obedient and know how to please. Those with their hands behind their backs are not ready to serve yet.”
“I see.” Steven nodded slightly.
Then, the madam suddenly exclaimed, “Yara, why are you keeping your head down? Raise your head.”
Yara kept her head bowed. Worried about offending a customer, the madam snapped, “Get out of here!”
“No need, I’ll take her,” Steven said.
“Steven, this girl just arrived a couple of days ago. She’s still new to this, I’m afraid she won’t be able to properly entertain you. Would you like to choose another one?” the madam suggested.
“No need to change, I want her.”
Addressing Yara, the madam said, “Did you hear that? Come over here and keep him company. You better take good care of him, or you’ll see what I’m capable of.” Yara remained head–bowed, seeming reluctant in an unusual way.
Women at Joy Club were trained to be welcoming to all clients, regardless of appearance. It was a matter of professional ethics.
“What’s taking you so long? Are you deaf? I told you to go to him.” The madam’s seductive demeanor turned severe as she stood up.
Only then did Yara slowly approach and sit beside Steven.
“Steven, she’s indeed a newbie. Pick a couple more so you can enjoy yourself. Don’t skimp on me,” Noel suggested.
“Sure.”
Steven agreed, selecting another one. The madam said, “Steven, you made a good choice. This is Kimberly Froman, one of Joy Club’s top performers.” “I’ll stick with these two. Noel, it’s your turn to pick,” Steven said.
Noel picked two to accompany him on either side.
Kimberly’s enthusiasm contrasted sharply with Yara’s stillness. She remained unmoved and neither offered drinks nor spoke to Steven.
When Steven rested a hand on her shoulder, she flinched in surprise.
“Are you afraid of me, or do you dislike me?” Steven asked.
