Yasmine found herself completely naked, her face flushed with embarrassment. She quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself.
“No need to be nervous, it’s all right now. Get dressed and let’s leave,” said Steven, turning away. Thoughtfully, he handed Yasmine some tissues to dry herself. Dressing while she was damp would be uncomfortable.
Yasmine wished she could find a hole to disappear into.
Exiting the bedroom, they found David drenched in sweat, his face pale, nearly passed out from pain.
“What happened to him?” Yasmine asked.
“I disarmed his ‘tool,‘” Steven said coolly.
“How did you know I was here?”
“Earlier, I noticed you were acting strangely in the parking lot. I messaged you but you didn’t reply.” Steven explained.
“Then I happened to overhear David’s brother mention David was up to no good upstairs. I guessed it might involve you, so I came up to check.”
Steven had been at Joy Club downstairs. But Noel got so carried away that he dragged a hostess into the bathroom.
Steven had to leave the private room to pee when he ran into David’s brother entertaining a friend. That was when he overheard their conversation.
“I… I wanted to call you for help but didn’t want to endanger you. David has clout in the underworld of Levix City. Neither you nor I can mess with him,” Yasmine said. She felt immensely grateful to Steven. Had Steven not arrived in time, she would have faced utter ruin at the hands of David.
“Let’s leave here first,” Steven suggested.
Steven brought Yasmine back to her car.
“Aren’t you coming with me?”
“I have other matters to attend to. You go ahead. I’ll take care of David.” Steven smiled.
“How will you handle it? Steven, I know you can fight, but David has dozens of men, including martial arts experts.”
“David is more difficult to deal with than Titus. Last time when Titus sought revenge on you, I had to ask David to intervene to resolve it. Now that I’ve ruined him, I can’t find any connections to help anymore. What should I do?”
Yasmine grew increasingly anxious, face full of worry.
“You asked David to help with Titus’s matter?”
“Yes! Otherwise, would Titus have let you off? Since it was my fault, I couldn’t just watch idly. Thank you for today too, or I’d have been ruined by David.”
“Do you think I’m safe because of David?” Steven couldn’t help chuckling.
“How else then? Titus isn’t a good guy. You beat him up. If David hadn’t intervened, how would he have let it go?”
Yasmine still didn’t know the truth.
“So David demanded you to sleep with him because of this?” Steven asked.
“He did set that condition, but it wasn’t solely because of you. My dad owes the loan sharks millions in gambling debts. David said if I became his mistress, he’d help me settle the matter.”
Yasmine looked helpless. “I had no other choice. Who knows what would happen if they took my dad away to collect the debt.”
“But I just found out it was all David’s scheme. He tricked my dad into gambling, and the loan shark boss works for him too.”
“Yas, I can tell you for sure that Titus had nothing to do with David. Titus wouldn’t do David any favors.”
Hearing the full story, Steven felt it necessary to clarify.
Unexpectedly, that incident nearly cost Yasmine her chastity. Though not the main reason, it was one factor pressuring her to sell herself. Luckily, Yasmine was unharmed, or Steven would have felt very guilty.
