Chapter 113
Noel felt annoyed too. He had planned to take Steven out for a good time, but their hostess was taken away midway. He was left embarrassed before Steven.
“Okay, I’ll go arrange it now.”
The madam stood up, shooting Yara a glare, intending to discipline her after work.
Just then, the room door flew open and Kimberly walked in.
“Why are you back? Weren’t you accompanying Mr. Wright?” the madam asked.
Kimberly stated, “Mr. Jones, Mr. Wright wants you to come over.”
Noel looked puzzled. “What does Mr. Wright want me for?”
Noel knew his worth. His small company meant nothing to someone like Gerald. So why would he be invited over for drinks?
“Mr. Wright has a guest who says he’s your classmate. He seems to have a good relationship with Mr. Wright. He asked you to join them for drinks,” Kimberly explained.
“My classmate? Who?” Noel asked in confusion.
“I don’t know. Mr. Jones, you should go over there now,” Kimberly urged.
Noel turned to Steven. “Steven, if it’s my classmate, he may be yours too. Let’s go over together and have a drink with Mr. Wright. It could benefit us to get
acquainted.”
“Alright.” Steven stood up, then turned to Yara and said, “You come with me.”
Though reluctant, Yara saw Steven’s stern look and felt a tinge of fear, obediently following along.
“Steven, what do you see in this girl? Sure, she’s pretty, but this type is dull like dead fish in bed,” Noel whispered.
Steven smiled. “I’ve seen my share of seductive women. This one with a pure, unassuming elegance has a distinct allure.”
Kimberly quickly led them to another private room and knocked before entering. There were about ten people inside. One of the three men was indeed a classmate, Jace.
“It’s Jace.” Noel’s face subtly changed. Jace had clashed with Steven in the group chat, making this encounter awkward.
“Steven, it’s Jace.” Noel expressed concern.
“What about Jace? Are you afraid of him?” Steven laughed.
“No, but he has issues with you. I worry he’ll cause trouble,” Noel fretted.
“It’s nothing.” Steven dismissed it calmly.
Jace noticed Noel and Steven, his face twisting into a malicious smile.
“Well, well, well, what a small world. Steven, haven’t you been beaten to death yet?” Jace taunted.
“You’ll die before I do,” Steven retorted bluntly.
Jace’s face darkened, but he quickly suppressed his anger. With a sardonic grin, he thought, “Steven, let’s see how I crush you today.”
Gerald asked, “Jace, are these both your classmates?”
“Yes, Mr. Wright. Let me introduce them.” Jace stood up, first introducing Noel. “Mr. Wright, I hear Noel has collaborations with your family. You should look out for him.”
“Since you brought it up, of course.” Gerald nodded slightly.
Noel hurriedly raised his glass deferentially. “Thank you, Mr. Wright.”
“You don’t need to thank me, thank Jace. He’s my friend. Without him putting in a good word I wouldn’t know a small company like yours existed.”
Gerald maintained his high and mighty attitude without even lifting his glass.
“Yes, you’re right,” Noel quickly thanked Jace too, who waved it off. “No need to thank me yet. Let me introduce you to this gentleman.”
