Chapter 116
Upon hearing Jace’s words, Noel didn’t know what to do. He finally understood his sneaky intentions.
Seeing Noel hesitate, Jace said evilly, “You can’t do it? Noel, you better think it through. If you show loyalty to Mr. Wright and me, it’ll benefit you greatly. But if you don’t do it, that means you’re against us. You won’t get any projects, and you might even get blacklisted.”
He continued, “Your small company won’t last long, and it’ll go bankrupt in a few days. Besides, you won’t be able to get out of here safely today. Isn’t it obvious which choice is better? Anyone with a bit of sense would get it.”
Jace pressured Noel to make a choice. Noel was well aware of the consequences of his choice. The benefits and downsides of the two different choices were obvious. Jace believed that Noel would choose to join them.
Of course, Jace was just toying with Noel and Steven. Even if Noel decided to team up with them, he wouldn’t get anything.
Jace said, “Noel, you’re smart. Smart people shouldn’t do stupid things. We’re not kids anymore. We should understand that self–interest comes first. Friendship means nothing when self–interest is involved. I’ll give you one minute to think about it.”
Steven sighed inwardly as he watched Noel struggle with indecision. Making this choice challenged human decency. He wouldn’t blame Noel even if he chose to go for him. Also, Steven didn’t want to put Noel in a difficult situation.
Steven said, “Noel, don’t worry about it. Just do it. I won’t blame you.”
“Steven…” Noel didn’t know what to do.
“Come on. It’s not like you can beat me anyway.” Steven gestured for Noel to come at him.
Jace sneered, “Noel, you’re still hesitating?”
After lighting a cigarette, Gerald watched Steven and Noel with interest. He found it entertaining.
Jace walked over to a bodyguard and took a baseball bat from him. He then threw it to Noel. He pressured Noel again. “You still have 30 seconds left. If you don’t do it, you and Steven will both get beaten up.”
Noel picked up the baseball bat from the ground and walked over to Steven. He raised it high and was about to hit Steven. However, he couldn’t bring himself to do

Instead, he turned around and faced Jace. “Darnell, I knew you were up to no good! Listen up. I won’t fall for your tricks. And I won’t betray Steven, either. You want a fight? Bring it on! I’ve been roughed up before. Come on!”
Noel confronted the group while holding the baseball bat.
Jace couldn’t believe Noel made the foolish choice, ruining the run for him. His face darkened as he cursed, “You’re such a fool!”
Gerald stood up and clapped. “What a great show of friendship! It truly moves me. But you really upset me. Your company is going to go bankrupt!”
Noel sneered and was unbothered by Gerald’s threat. He said, “Steven, you leave first when we start fighting. I’ll block them.”
Steven chuckled. “Why don’t you just come at me?”
Noel said, “Don’t be ridiculous! I’m not the kind of person who betrays friends and forgets favors. Besides, I brought you here tonight. How can I betray you?”
Gerald raised his hand and ordered, “Go ahead! Beat them hard, but don’t kill them. I want them alive.” As soon as he gave the command, one of the bodyguards in the private room came at them.
Noel tightened his grip on the baseball bat and said, “Try to slip away when there’s a chance. I can handle this.”
