Chapter 12 Have You Never Felt Anything for Her
Jordan asked, “Did you change your number?”
“Yeah,” answered Sabrina.
“To say goodbye to the past and start fresh. Also, I was atcald I might call you if I didn’t.” Sabrina tumed to look at him. “Do you love her!
Jordan kept his eyes straight ahead. “I have to be responsible for her.”
Silence fell over them once more. Before long, the car pulled up in front of an old, rundown neighborhood. The buildings were at least to years old, and the surrounding lights were dim, with only a few flickering weakly.
“Do you live here?”
“The rent’s cheap.”
As she opened the car door, she noticed that fordan got out as well. “I’ll walk you to the door.”
Sabrina resisted. “No need.”
But when she met his gaze, her voice softened with a hint of pleading. “Jordan, please don’t be too land to me. It’ll only make me cling to the warmth of your presence and depend on you.”
He looked at her fixedly and said, “I can make sure you live comfortably.”
He meant that he could only offer material support and nothing more. But how could he say something so caring yet so heartless at the same time?
Fortunately, she had already come to terms with it. He hadn’t even moved after she tried hard for three years, so what else could she hope for?
“Goodbye!” With that, she tumed and waved nonchalantly
Post as she did so, his voice came from belded her. “Wait,
“What is it, Mr. Ford?”
“My mother is back. She doesn’t know we’ve divorced, and she wants me to bring you over for dinner this weekend.”
Sabrina blinked, “That doesn’t seem appropriate, does it? Maybe you should just tell her the truth.”
Jordan responded, “Come with me. I don’t want her to know about the divorer just yet.”
If Selena found out, lt would cause a huge uproar, just thinking about it gave him a beadache.
“So am I supposed to just go along with your lie?” Her voice quivered with a hint of frustration. “Jordan, that’s not fair.”
He reminded her calmly, “We haven’t finalized the divorce yet, so legally, you’re still my wife.”
Wow. He was more shameless than she thought. She felt like giving him a good punch.
Stepping closer, Sabrina had to tilt her head back to meet his eyes. Her eyes were slightly red as she asked, “So when do you plan on finalizing the divorce?–
Jordan narrowed his eyes and seemed to be in deep thought, “Are you in a hurry?”
At much as she wanted to agree, she couldn’t admit it. “Not really. I’m just worried Ms. Patterson might be upset.”
He pulled out his phone and changed the topic. “What’s your number?
She bit her lip and was clearly reluctant, but eventually, st
Sabrina could only stare at him.
gave it to him. Jordan entered it and called hernumber, and only when he heard berphone ring did he
“I’ll watch you go in Expect my call this weekend. Don’t Lenore it.”
He knew how to manipulate things to his advantage
Jordan watched her walk into the apartment complex and vanish into one of the old buildings before he turned and got back into his car, driving away. As his car left, another car slowly pulled up.
Zayn called her. “He’s gone. You can come out now,
Sabrina got into the car, casually tossing the 400,000 dollars onto the back arat like it was nothing more than trash.
Zzynchuckled, “Yourex–husband is pretty generous by just handing over 400,000 like that,”
“Not bad. How did it go on your end? Are you planning to reconnect with Benedict?”
The smile faded from Zayn’s face, replaced by a cold glint in his eyes.
Sabrina shrugged and did not ask further. “I’ve prepared Valerie’s treatment schedule. Send it to them later.”
Jordan returned to the private room, and Victor and the others were still there. While he’d been gone, they’d called over a few girls and were planning to hit up a bar
later.
Upon seeing him retur, Victor looked a bit surprised. He poured Jordan a drink. “So you really got divorced?“.
“We haven’t finalized the divorce papers yet,” Jordan replied while taking the drink with a colm expression.

Η
“Look, I know Sabrina isn’t well–educated, but if you divorce her, you’ll never find a wife as gentle, obedient, and caring as she is.”
He’d seen how Sabrina treated jordan over the years. She was the epitome of a devoted wife, always attentive, gentle, and kind Sometimes, it even made him want to get married himself. Not to mention that Sabrina was stunningly beautiful, a rare gem.
Jondan swirled the drink in his glass and felt frustrated for some reason. “You know why I married her in the first place. Besides, there are some people I’m
responsible for ”
He downed the drink in one gulp, and Victor immediately refilled his glass. “Be
de honest with me, have you never felt anything for her after all these years of marriage?”
