Chapter 13 Are You Using Birth Control
That weekend at the Ford residence, Sabrina followed Jordan as they got out of the car.
“You know what to say, right?” Jordan extended his arm….…...
“Don’t worry, I won’t let Selena find out we’re divorced.”
She took his arm while flashing him a smile a gentle and obedient as ever. Sering the warmth in her expression made Jordan pause for a moment.
“You slip into character pretty quickly.”
“Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Ford.”
His gaze deepened. He suddenly withdrew his arm, pulled her close by the waist, and pressed her against his chest. Standing at five feet five inches, she looked especially petite and delicate in his embrace.
“You’re not exactly humble.”
“Mr. Ford, you know what I’m like, don’t you?”
With her band testing on his chest, she looked up at him with innocent eyes that sparkled, her beauty almost blinding.
Jordan grasped her hand. “Why didn’t you take the compensation I offered?
den want money to taint my love for you.” She pulled her hand back, letting it graze his cheek, her fingen tracing the contours of his face as she gazed at him
with infatuation.
“Dear, after three years together, are you really going to leave me for her?!
“Sabrina, enough, I made it clear when we got manied that could give you anything except my heart.”
The warmth vanished, leaving her feeling empty inside. The fleeting sense of hope was gone in an instant. He was cruel, and she should never have had any
expectations.
“Sabrina!” Emily came running toward her like a butterfly, gracefully throwing her arms around Sabrina before she could react. “Sabrina, it’s been so long since. I’ve seen you! Jordan wouldn’t let me visit you! How mean!!!
Jordan was a control freak, always needing to regulate everything, even Sabrina.
Sabrina laughed. “But here we are, seeing each other now. Oh, I’ve got a gift for you
“What is it?” Heasing there was a gift, Emily’s eyes lit up.
Sabrina took not a gift box from her bag and handed it to her. Emily eagerly opened it, and when she saw the limited–edition.necklace from a luxury brand imide, she squealed with excitement.
“How did you know I wanted this necklace? This was designed by the internationally renowned designer, Anna, and it’s a limited edition for the spring season with only two places available in the world
Emily was curious. “How did you manage to get it?”
“A friend of mine has connections, so I reserved one for you!
“You’re the greatest”
Emily hugged her again and planted a big kiss on her cheek But at the next second, someone grabbed Emily by the collar and pulled her away.
“You get this excited over nocdace? Have some dignity.”
“Jordan, you just don’t get it! Anna only designs one or two pieces a year, and every single one is the pinnacle of luniry! They’re almost impossible to get!”
Jordan couldn’t stand her childish enthusiasm any longer. With one hand in his pocket, he walked toward the entrance.
“Let’s go.”
Sabrina took Emily’s hand and followed him.
“Here you are.”
A well–maintained, elegant woman in a blue–green dress adomed with an ink painting waved her over. Every movement of rexexuded grace and refinement.
“Mom, did you enjoy your trip?” Last month, Selena had gone on an overseas trip and stayed away for a full month

“It was lovely. Next time, you should come with me”
Selenaleld Sabrina’s hand as she sized her up. “You seem to have lost some weight.”
Before Sabrina could respond, Selena Jurned to Jordan and was ready to scold him. “jordan, what’s going on? Haven’t you been taking good care of Sabrina?”
Jordan look off his jacket and tossed it onto the couch casually. “You’re mistaken, Mom. She’s been well taken care of, but she’s just the type who doesn’t gain
weight easily.”
“Then when are you planning to take Sabrina for a checkup? You’re both getting older. When do you plan to have a child?“”
Sabrina’s hand froze as she sipped her tea, meeting Selena’s expectant gaze. Her eyes showed a trace of complexity
“Having a baby is something we need to leave to fate.”
Considering that she and Jordan had never been intimate, how could she possibly get pregnant? Whether now or in the future, it wasn’t likely to happen.
“How can you just leave it to tate? Jordan, are you not trying hard enough? Selena tumed to jordan and began to lecture him.
“Jordan, before I came back, I made a special trip to Evercrest City to see your grandmother. She’s been hoping for a grandchild from you and Sabrina. You’re not getting any younger. It’s time to start thinking seriously about this!”
Then Selena’s tome shifted. “You’ve been married for three years. Are you two using birth control?”
Jordan responded calmly, “No.”
““Then why haven’t there been any signs of a baby? Unless…” She hesitated, “Is there a problem with you?”
sabrina had just taken a sip of her tea, but she couldn’t help but burst out laughing upon hearing Selena’s question.
Jordan’s face darkened. “There’s nothing wrong with me. We’ll have kids eventually.”
“No. You and Sabrina need to go to the hospital for a thorough checkup tomorrow. I’ll have Liam go with you.”
Liam was the family’s trusted butler and someone Selena relied on. She wanted someone to supervise them.
“I have an important meeting tomorrow. I don’t have time.”
Then reschedule it. Nothing is more important than this” Selens hutted. “I came back this time to make sure you tan have a baby. You don’t want your grandmother to fly from Evercrest City just to cry in front of you, do you?”
Jordan was at a loss for words.
