“Troy, I would advise against taking any risks. Would you really dislike her for her appearance?”

Troy browned. “It’s not that simple. She just won’t listen. If love could solve everything, then why did
your husband divorce you atter only three years of marriage?”

The conversation died there. Why bring up that jerk for no reason? At that moment, there was a knock at the door
“Dr. Walker, the patient in room 306 is having complications. Could you please take a look?”
Troy turned around and walked out with his hands in his pockets.
Sabrina had just finished replying to a WhatsApp message when she received a friend request. The profile picture was of a moon hanging over a deep blue sea. Who would use such a cheesy profile picture nowadays?
She immediately declined the request and blocked the person.
At Ford Corporation, Jordan’s eyes darkened as he saw the declined friend request.
“Did you add her?” Selena asked while craning her neck
“You’ve been married to Sabrina for three years, and you’re not even friends with her on WhatsApp?
How can you call yourself her husband?”
“she changed her number, and I’ve been busy lately. 1 just haven’t had a chance to get in touch.”
“Excuses! This just proves that you don’t care about your wife. Let me make it clear. Your grandmother is coming back this week, and you and Sabrina need to pick her up.”
Jordan was stunned. “Why did she decide to come back? Wasn’t she supposed to be recuperating in Evercrest City?”
The climate there was very mild year–round, which was good for elderly people. Besides, Linda had been having chronic leg pain for years and couldn’t walk when the weather changed
Linda had been living in Everest City for years and only returned once or twice a year.
“What do you think?” Selena asked with a smile. “It’s great that your grandmother is coming back to keep an eye on you two. That way, I can head off on another trip!”
“Mom, why didn’t you discuss this with me?
“You’re well aware of your grandmother’s temper. She wouldn’t have listened to me.”
Selens got up gracefully. “Alright. I’ve made plans to go shopping with Emily. Just remember to let Sabrina know about picking up Grandma.”
Linda’s retum had completely thrown off his plans. Jordan rubbed his temples as this head throbbed. He took out his phone and called Sabrina.
The call connected, but before he could speak, a magnetic male voice answered.
“Hello, Sabrina is busy. Please call back later.” Then, the speaker hung up.
Sabrina had to perform emergency surgery
y at the hospital. By the time she finally came out, two hours had passed.
The hospital director observed the entire surgery and was deeply impressed by her exceptional skills. He was so excited that his hands were shaking. Troy had truly recruited top ralent for the hospital.
He immediately arranged a private office for her. Sabrina was flattered by the news, while Troy was exceptionally pleased.
“The director said it himself,” Troy explained, holding up three fingers. “If you did a good job, your annual salary will be this much.”
Sabcina was as calm as still water. It wasn’t even as much as that jerk had given her in one go.
“Oh, by the way, your ex–husband called you while you were in surgery.”
“Oh.” Sabrina showed no emotion. “Well, what should we eat for dinner?”
“You decide. My treat!”
“Alright.”
She had orginally planned to go to Regal rights, but upon thinking of that jerk, she decided on Elysium
Dreng Hour instead.
