Chapter 43 Is She Medically Trained

No. That wasn’t what Valerie wanted. It wasn’t the outcome she wanted for getting close to Jordan.
Valerie wanted the title of “Mrs. Ford” and the power and status that came with it. If her biological father found out that his abandoned daughter had become more powerful than him, it would be a sweet victory.

Of course, Valerie wanted Jordan, the gifted man. She wanted everyone to know that she deserved the very best in life.
Just as Jordan was about to speak, Adrian knocked on the door. “Mr. Ford!”
“I’ll be right back.” Then, Jordan stood and stepped out.
Valerie furrowed her brows as she watched the man leave. After a moment’s hesitation, she quietly followed him.
“Mr. Ford, I just looked into it. Mrs. Ford is now a doctor in neurosurgery, approved personally by the hospital director. Troy Walker is the director of the neurosurgery department. He’s well–respected at the hospital.”
Jordan frowned. “She’s a doctor now?”
“Yes.”
“Does she have a medical background?” A flicker of bewilderment crossed his face as if he’d never truly known Sabrina.
Adrian shook his head. “When we investigated her past, she was an orphan with no high school degree, let alone a college education.”
Yet, here she was, a doctor in a top department, right after signing the divorce papers with Jordan. It was nothing short of astonishing.
“Are you sure you checked everything thoroughly? Look into it again.” Jordan’s gaze sharpened as he spoke quietly.
“Okay.” Adrian recalled something important and added, “By the way, here’s the flight schedule for the day Mrs. Ford Senior returns.
“She’s taking the earliest flight back to Hornsey. Her expected arrival is on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Hornsey Airport.”
Upon hearing this, Valerie had an idea. Since Jordan was reluctant to be upfront with his grandmother, she would take the initiative to present herself to Linda.
As she heard footsteps approaching, she quickly sat back down on the edge of the bed, her heart racing.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Jordan asked when he returned to find her holding the apple untouched.
Valerie sniffled and shook her head. “I just don’t have an appetite.”
“Not even for the apple I peeled for you?”
“Jordan, I’ve been feeling much better lately. I don’t want to stay in the hospital anymore. Can you arrange a place for me? I’d like to move out.”
“You know your condition best. It could flare up at any moment, and staying in the hospital is the safest option. The doctors are always available if anything happens.”
“But…”
“Enough. Wait until the toxins are completely cleared before moving out. Don’t make me worry, Valerie.”
Valerie nodded reluctantly. “All right then.”
With six treatments left, she would be finished in a little over two weeks. By then, she was determined to move into Jordan’s place and solidify her position as his
woman.
After Jordan left, Valerie headed to the neurosurgery department. She tried to gather information about Sabrina at the nurse station.
One of the nurses recognized the exquisite and talented new doctor and pointed her in the right direction. “Dr. Tucker’s office is at the end of the hall. You must be one of her patients, right?”
Seeing Valerie in her hospital gown, the nurse assumed she was there for treatment.
Valerie smiled innocently and replied, “Thank you.”
Just as she was about to turn around, she spotted a woman in a white coat not far away, her elegance unmistakable.
The doctor was speaking with a man who seemed to be a patient’s family member. He nodded gratefully after receiving the information.
When Sabrina approached, Valerie quickly turned away. After Sabrina left, Valerie quietly slipped out of the neurosurgery department.
Upon entering her office, Sabrina set down the patient files and answered a call from Zayn.
“Brina, I have a business dinner tonight and need a female companion. Can you come with me?”
