Chapter 57 Seize the Opportunity
With a darkened expression, Jordan coaxed, “Please close the door first. I’ll promise you anything.”
Adrian was scared out of his wits. He considered pulling over but was worried about Linda getting injured, so he just slowed down the car.
Seeing Jordan agree, Linda broke into a smile. “Really?”
“If you don’t close the door now, I’m talking back what I said.”
Sabrina.”
Then, the door closed with a bang. Linda grinned and looked at Sabrina. “Jordan made a promise, so may you seize the opportunity,
Sabrina was at a loss for words. She was shocked by how Linda’s expression flipped. One moment she was dramatic and suicidal, and the next she was acting like nothing had happened. She seemed totally oblivious to how her actions had freaked everyone out.
Clearly, Linda was gambling with her life to make Jordan say yes.
“Say something, Did I scare you? Linda squeezed Sabrina’s cold hand.
Sabrina responded, “Don’t try something so dangerous again, Grandria. It’s not funny at all.”
“I’m not kidding around. If he didn’t agree, I’d really jump. If it weren’t for Sam showing up in my dreams, I’d have joined him a long time ago.”
“Don’t talk like that, Grandma. If Grandpa knew you felt this way, he’d probably find a way to bring you back even if you tried to leave this world.”
Jordan rubbed his throbbing temples. Linda was even more of a handful than she used to be
Selena and Emily were waiting in the yard. When they saw the car, they rushed over. “Mom.‘
Emily helped Linda out and made sure Linda was doing okay. Then, she cheerfully said, “You look fantastic, Grandma ”
After some coughing, Linda replied, “Who said that? I feel worse than before. Even a gentle breeze makes me feel awful, and 1 keep coughing ”
“But Grandma-“Linda suddenly pinched Emily’s hand hard. “Ouch, it hurts!TM
Selena quickly caught on to Linda’s hint and pushed Emily away. “Go make Mom a cup of coffee. She’s eager to see if your coffee brewing skills have improved.”
Holding her luggage, Jordan walked up to Linda. “Come on, Grandma. You were ready to jump out of the car. Why didn’t you say anything about your throat previously?”
“Were you seriously considering jumping out of the car, Mom?” Selena was freaking out. “If something happens to you, how am I going to explain it to Kevin when he gets back?=

Emily handed over the coffee she had just made. Linda took it and frowned. “No, this isn’t quite right. You need to teach Emily how to do it properly, Selena. If she can’t make it right, people might not like it when she gets married.
“It’s been so long since I had coffee made by you, Sabrina. Make me some.”

Sabrina put away the coffee from earlier and brewed a fresh cup of coffee. She then brought it over to Linda.
After taking a sip, Linda narrowed her eyes and remarked, “That’s the right flavor, Sabrina’s coffee brewing
“You probably don’t know this, but Sabrina isn’t only skilled in brewing coffee. She’s a great doctor too.”
Emily couldn’t wait to tell Linda the news. The latter suddenly gaped at Sabrina with a puzzled look. “Have you studied medicine, Sabrina?”
Before Sabrina could say anything, Emily spoke up first. “Sabrina is a medical genius from Willow Creek College, Grandma. We had no clue. She’s blowing up on the internet now.”
Perplexed, Linda turned to Jordan. “What’s going on, Jordan?”
Didn’t she drop out of school? How did she end up as a top student?
Back when Jordan brought Sabrina home, Linda found her to be pretty and well–behaved. She didn’t seem to have any ulterior motives and was pretty considerate. Most importantly, since Jordan liked her, Linda didn’t think much about her lower education level.
Jordan helped himself to a cup of coffee. After taking a small sip, he felt the rich coffee aroma filling his mouth. The flavor lingered and left a pleasant aftertaste. “You have to ask Sabrina about it. I only found out about it recently, just like you”
