Chapter 59 Felgning Obedience
Sabrina recalled the despair of watching a life fade away right before her eyes. That feeling stuck with her, so she threw herself into studying medicine.
Her goal was to attain medical expertise similar to that of a miracle doctor who could bring people back to life.
She used to believe that studying medicine would bring people back to life, but she learned that many things were beyond her control. Now, she just tried to do! best and not leave any regrets behind.
Seeing Sabrina lost in thought, Emily softly called out, “Sabrina?”
Then, Sabrina snapped back to reality. “How about we go downstairs and eat first?”
After the meal, Linda started making small talk with Sabrina. Everyone gathered on the couch to keep Linda company. Out of the blue, Jordan’s phone started ringing. He glanced at his phone before getting up to leave.
“Where are you going? Linda stemly asked. “Move your work to tomorrow. You’re not allowed to leave today.”
“Mmhm,” Jordan responded and beaded out.

The caregiver’s frantic voice came through to Jordan’s ears. “Ms. Patterson got hurt, Mr. Ford. She fell down the stairs in this hospital garden this morning and is bleeding terribly from her head. She’s still unconscious. Please hurry to the hospital to check on her.”
Jordan’s expression darkened. “What’s the point of having you around if you can’t look after her?”
Nevertheless, he strode over to the car in the yard, floored the gas, and sped away.
The sound of the car taking off caught Linda’s attention in the living room. Frowning, she got up and looked out the window, but Jordan’s car was nowhere to be

“Is this the son you’re proud of? He’s leamed to say one thing to my face and do the opposite behind my back.”
Selena hurriedly responded, “He might be caught up with work stuff. I’ll call him and get him to come back right away.”
Linda coldly grunted. “If he doesn’t show up before dinner, I’ll just drop dead to prove my point.”
Sabrina was lett speechless
“Alright. I’ll call Jordan right now. Don’t keep bringing up death. You’re going to live a long time for sure. Help Mom back to her room to rest, Sabrina.”
As soon as the call connected, Selene snapped, “What’s wrong with you leaving without a word? Listen up. I don’t care what’s happening, but you have to be back before dinner. If not, Mom is going to make a fuss again. I can’t deal with her like that,”
“As if anyone can put with that.”
“You rascal.”
“Alright. I’ve got to go. I’ve got something urgent to handle. Tell Grandma I’ll be back before dinner.” With that, Jordan hung up and drove straight to the hospital. The caregiver saw Jordan and said, “You here, Mr. Ford.”
Valerie was lying in bed and munching her snacks when she heard it. She immediately faked being unconscious. It wasn’t until Jordan’s footsteps reached her bed before she slowly opened her eyes.
“Jordan,” Valerie looked really weak as if she was totally drained
The caregiver cheerfully said, “You’re finally awake, Ms. Patterson. If it weren’t for Mr. Ford showing up, we’d still be waiting for you to wake up.”
Jordan instructed, “Why aren’t you calling the doctor already?”
“I’ll get a doctor now.”
Valerie reached out to Jordan and asked, “What’s going on, Jordan?”
Jordan held Valerie’s hand. “You hit your head and were out cold. How are you feeling now? Are you still dizzy?”
At that moment, Valerie looked super pale. With a white bandage wrapped around her forehead, she seemed really frail.
Valerie lightly shook her head and sported a feeble smile. “Seeing you right when I open my eyes makes me really happy.”
