Chapter 60 Compromise
Jordan returned to the Ford residence later that evening. When he came in, jordan saw Sabrina teaching Emily how to make coffee. Emily was really focused, and Sabrina was going over everything slowly and carefully.
It looked like Emily was seriously into leaming how to make coffee. She jotted down all the steps and crucial details Sabrina shared. Emily was resolved to impress
Linda
It turned out that being around high achievers made Emily end up wanting to step up her game.
Sabrina got up. “Try it one more time.”
Looking up, Sabrina met Jordan’s deep gaze and was surprised. She didn’t expect him to actually come back because she was convinced that Valerie would keep him at the hospital.
Jordan approached and asked, “Where’s Grandma?”
“She’s in the kitchen.”
After waking up, Linda suddenly had the idea to make soup herself and wanted her family to try her cooking. They couldn’t say no to her enthusiasm, so they went along with it.
“You’re finally back?” Linda walled out of the kitchen. “I was getting ready to hang myself in your room if you didn’t show up soon.”
Jordan was at a loss for words. Why Linda didn’t feel like she crossed the line with her joke?
Linda beamed and said, just finished making some chicken soup. Drink plenty of it with Sabrina later. It’s perfect for strengthening your body.”
Linda smiled heartily, whereas Jordan and Sabrina just stayed silent.
Betty walked out and announced, “The soup’s all set and served as you wanted, Mrs. Ford Senior.”
“What are we waiting for? Come over and try the soup. I want to low what you think of my cooking
The hilarious part was Sabrina and Emily had their soup served in small bowls, but jordan got a giant one.
Linda urged “Stop dawdling and drink it all up.”
Jordan frowned. “What’s in this soup?
“I made the chicken soup with herbs. I even used the head. It’s good for-”
Before Linda even finished her sentence, Emily started to throw up. She hunched over the trash can and kept puking. “You’re freaking me out, Why would she ask them to drink that kind of soup?
Grandma!”
“You don’t know any better, idddo. Every part of the chicken is valuable, and the head is great for nourishing your body. If you’re not doing to drink it, just keep quiet.”
Linda glared at Emily. Feeling wronged, Emily subconsciously looked at Sabrina. “Are you going to drinkit, Sabrina?”
Could Sabrina not drink it? Linda wasn’t going to cut Sabrina any slack After urging Jordan to finish up the soup, Linda began pushing Sabrina too. In the end, Sabrina closed her eyes and pinched her nose before gulping it down.
The taste was fine, but there was a strange flavor to it
Seeing that Sabrina had drunk it all, Linda urged. “Sabrina has finished hers, so you need to hurry up. Are you telling me you can’t handle more than a woman?”
If Jordan didn’t drink it, it was like saying he couldn’t measure up to a woman. So, Jordan tilted his head back and downed the soup in one go. Furrowing his brows, he fought against the urge to puke
Linda flashed everyone a smile. “Alright, Betty. It’s time to serve the food.”
During dinner, Linda made another request of Jordan. “Stay at the Ford residence tonight. You’re not going home.”
Jordan replied, “I still have a meeting tonight.”
Sabrina responded, “I’ve got stuff going on at the hospital too, Grandma.”
They had signed the divorce papers. If she stayed at the Ford residence, wouldn’t she end up sharing a room with him?
Linda sighed and said, “I’m old, and my words don’t carry any weight anymore. If you want to leave, I won’t stop you. At worst, I’ll just
Upon hearing the sigh, Jordan furrowed his brows. “I’ll stay.”
Linda looked at Sabrina pleadingly. “How about you, Sabrina?”
Sabrina took a deep breath before replying with a smile, “ves. I’ll stick around.”
