Chapter 73 Getting Ahead of Yourself
Sabrina nonchalantly asked, “Why are you here?”
“I heard about what happened online. I came over to see if you’re okay,” Valerie replied.
Valerie came here expecting Sabrina to be a mess after the divorce, but she seemed unaffected. Instead, she was glowing and more beautiful than ever. It was so Trustrating how much she was thriving.
Even though Valerie had been well taken care of these past three years, the poison had left her looking a bit gaunt, and her skin was dull. But still, her natural looks couldn’t help but seem lacdusternext to Sabrina’s.
Sabrina took a seat and casually asked, “When did you start caring about me, Ms. Patterson? Are you disappointed because I’m doing fine?”
Valerie smirked. “I’m here to thank you. I’m grateful that you’re willing to set Jordan free. I hope you can make it to the engagement partynext month. It’d meant a lot for jordan and me to have your blessing.”
Sabrina clenched her fist, locking eyes with Valerie. She snickered. “Aren’t you getting a little bit ahead of yourself, Ms. Patterson?
“What do you mean?” Valerie’s expression went cold in an instant.
“No need to get so worked up. I was just jolding. The Ford family won’t easily accept someone like you, especially with your health issues making it hard for you to have children.”
“Jordan has already spent a fortune finding a Miracle Doctor to heal me. I’ll recover soon, and Jordan and I will have our kids before you know it. You don’t need to worry about it, Ms. Tucker.”
Valerie then pointed out, “Jordan and I will do way better than you imagine. As long as he’s with me, I don’t care about anyone else, and I’m not scared of anything.
It had to be nice to have a man on her side. That was why she felt so fearless.
“Don’t flatter yourself, and don’t expect any blessings from me, Ms. Patterson. Can you be more clever next time you stir up trouble? You’ve indirectly caused someone’s death. Aren’t you worried about nightmares coming back to haunt you?
“I’m not following you.”
“Are you genuinely confused, or are you just playing dumb? You know perfectly well what’s going on, Ms. Patterson. You can’t hide things forever. Sabrina chuckled. “I’m interested to see Jordan’s reaction when he sees the real you.”
“You’re already divorced from Jordan, Sabrina. Are you still planning to pester him?” Valerie’s gaze was piercing. “If you spew nonsense in front of Jordan, I’ll make sure you pay for it.”
Valerie left in a huff, feeling unsettled by Sabrina’s words. She found herself in a panic with her heart pounding.
Did Sabrina notice something? That couldn’t be true. Valerie covered her tracks so well and didn’t leave any evidence behind. Sabrina couldn’t possibly know. Sabrina was confident with her guess from Valerie’s reaction and wasn’t surprised at all.
Sabrina flashed a sneer. She didn’t intend to go after Valerie, but the latter couldn’t wait to ruin her reputation and bring her down
Sabrina wouldn’t mess with anyone unless they came after her first, Since Valerie made the first move against her, she had no reason to hold back.
An engagement part, huh? Sabrina was set to give Valerie a special gift
After returning to the ward, Valerie got more and more anxious. She checked in with the people who had helped her spread the rumors. Upon learning that no one was looking into that matter, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
No way Sabrina figured anything out. She must have said it to mess with Valerie earlier. Valerie pulled out her phone and eagerly called Adrian.
“Can you swing by the hospital today, Mr. Boyer? I need to talk to you about something, but can you keep it from Jordan for now?”
