They were interrupted by a knock on the door. Adrian walked in and glanced at Valerie who was lying in the hospital bed. He then leaned close to Jordan and whispered a few words in his ears before handing him a file.

She felt that she couldn’t admit the truth. It would truly be the end for her if she did.
Jordan’s gaze grew cold. He no longer wanted to waste another word on her and turned to walk outside.
