Chapter 98 One Step Away From Her Dream of Wealth
Valerie was left alone in the ward. She collapsed to the floor, as if all her strength had drained from her body.
It was ruined!
Everything was ruined!
She was this close and just one step away from marrying into a wealthy family.
“Val…” Martha approached her and tried to help her up.
“Mom, I’ve got nothing left. I’ve endured it for three years. It all fell apart just as I was about to get everything I wanted!”

Valerie suddenly looked up and grabbed her arm. “Was he very disappointed?”
Leigh had looked at her and jordan with anticipation at the engagement ceremony. He had even planned to mend their father–daughter relationship after the engagement and hoped to use her connection with Jordan for his own gain.
However, his plan crumbled as the humiliating scene unfolded. He unleashed his fury on her in front of Martha once they returned home. He even went so far as to say that he would have snuffed out her life the moment she was born if he had known she would turn out this way.
Martha didn’t dare to answer, but her expression had betrayed her. She had never been good at hiding her feelings. Leigh would have divorced his wife years ago if she were.

with all her strength and screamed like a maniac.
All of a sudden, she jumped to her feet and ran out. Martha feared that something might happen to her and hurried after her.
Valerie stormed down the corridor and headed straight for the neurosurgery department.

The commotion caught the attention of the people nearby. They began whispering among themselves.
