Chapter 99 Was That You
She suddenly seemed to have seen her savior and shoved Sabrina aside as she rushed to Jordan and grabbed his arm.
“Jordan, it was her! She had admitted just now that she was the one who framed me! We would already be engaged if it weren’t for her!”
Valerie thought he had returned because he still had some feelings for her.
Sabrina met Jordan’s complicated gaze. A flicker of surprise crossed her eyes before she calmly confessed, “It was me.”
“Did you hear that? She admitted it!”
“But those weren’t lies.” Sabrina walked over slowly with her hands in her pockets and smiled. “Why don’t we talk about this somewhere more private?”
She didn’t enjoy being the center of the spectacle and was certain that Jordan must’ve felt the same.
However, Valerie was still oblivious and assumed that Sabrina was feeling diffident, “Why do you want to talk somewhere else? What are you plotting now?
Sabrina met her hateful and wary gaze as she pulled out a key to unlock her office’s door. She tumed to say something to Troy beside her before stepping in
Troy was stunned. He glanced around and spotted the woman that Sabrina had described.
Martha instinctively looked away when she sensed his gaze and quickdy tumed to walk away.
Jordan followed Sabrina into the office. Valerie gritted her teeth and followed him inside when she saw that.
“Make yourself at home.” Sabrina poured herself a cup of tea.
She held the cup in her hands after talding a sip of the tea and said, “We value reciprocity in our culture. It was only right for me to return the favor since Ms. Patterson sent me an invitation. I thought you would like it!
Valerie’s expression darkened as she retorted, “Those things aren’t real. Where did you even get them?”
“I’m sure Mr. Ford can verify their authenticity. I have no interest in investigating you. Those files were sent to my mail one day. I wasn’t planning to use them, but Ms. Patterson kept provolding me. I’m not known for my patience. So…I couldn’t help it.
“I’m sorry for ruining your happiness.”
There wasn’t a hint of remorse on her delicate face, though her words seemed apologetic. There was even a hint of mockery in her eyes
“Those things are in the past even if they’re true. I’ve never crossed boundaries for the past three years while being with Jordan, nor have I been involved with other men. Jordan, I love you. My heart only belongs to you. Can’t you overlook my past for the sake of our three years together?” Valerie pleaded.
She was trying to win back Jordan’s heart.
The comer of his lips curled into a mocking smile as he met her gaze. How could she still think that they could be together?
Did she think he was someone who would settle for anything?
“Valerie, you’ve been lying to me since we first met three years ago. Do you truly think I would stay with someone who’s deceitful and morally compromised? “None of this would have happened if I hadn’t felt obligated to take responsibility for you back then. I can’t believe you still foolishly hope to pretend nothing has gone wrong
“I have given you so many chances. You never appreciate them!”
His expression was cold and his gaze was filled with contempt. He looked at her as if she were something utterly worthless. Her heart sank into despair as chills ran down ber spine.
Her eyes reddened as she tried to make him guilty. “You would’ve died if I hadn’t saved you and bandaged your wounds to stop the bleeding back then. You promised to take responsibility for me and to marry me. Are you going back on your words now?”
Jordan’s expression darkened, “Was that even you?”
Sabrina’s hand holding the cup suddenly froze as her heart raced. Valerie had taken her place and made Jordan believe it was her who had slept with him and saved his life back then. He had always thought it was Valerie. What did he mean now?
The door suddenly opened. Zayn walked in while pulling a woman along behind him.
Valerie’s face fumed even more pale when she saw who the woman was.
