Chapter 13: We Can’t Heal Her

As soon as the ambulance arrived at the hospital, Amelia was wheeled into the emergency department by the medical practitioners while Ava approached the nurse on duty.

“You! Get me the best doctor in this hospital right now” Her tone was decisive and authoritative.

The nurse on duty was shocked but she still managed to keep it professional and say, “All the Doctors have their hands tied right now but we can work on an appointment and–”

The moment the nurse heard the name of the arrogant woman’s family, her face turned pale in fright.

“And who says so?” A low but audible voice came from the door and everyone turned in the direction.

“You!” Ava’s body shook in rage.

William stepped into the ward with his right hand in his pocket and looked in the direction of Amelia’s bed.

He could see her face getting covered with the red bulging veins from her neck region.

“And who are you?” Doctor Maxwell stepped forward to confront William after noticing how poorly dressed he was.

shut.

She had recognized William’s voice.

“Sister, you don’t know what you’re saying. The poison must have affected your head” Ava quickly got closer to her sister

“I’m going to die anyway. Respect my last wish, Ava let him treat me” Amelia’s lips mumbled very slowly and they could tell she was now on her last leg.

The other doctors wanted to speak but Maxwell signaled them not to.

They understood his signal in an instant and stood back.

Maxwell cleared his throat, “Miss, it’s advisable to honor the last wish of a person. Why don’t you listen to your sister?”

“You want this creep to touch my sister?” Ava roared and Maxwell shrank back.

“I’m not that kind of person. Ain’t you a powerful person? You can kill me if I do anything” William said calmly to pacify Ava.

He was only interested in healing Amelia whose situation was getting worse.

“Let him..” Amelia’s voice was now at its lowest and only Ava heard her words.

She sniffed and turned in William’s direction.

“If you try anything stupid, I’ll make sure there’s nothing left of you to bury” She threatened him and then stepped aside.
