Chapter 32: The VIP Reservation
The waiter who was about to leave was taken aback.
He was slowly getting annoyed as he said. “I just told you, the regular seating area is occupied”
“I remember mentioning the VIP section” William was in no mood to play around.
This was another case of someone looking down on him.
“The VIP section..?” The waiter laughed gently, “You want to make a VIP reservation. Well, it costs $5,000 to make a reservation in this place”
He snorted internally..
Kate was a little shaken by the price and she wanted to discourage William from proceeding.
“You’ll have to pay first before we allow you in there” The waiter’s tone was mocking as he beckoned at one of the reservation workers to come around.
After whispering, the other man inputted the figure in her terminal machine and then raised it at them.
William smiled coldly.
With no words, he slid his card from his pocket and swiped it.
The waiter was shocked by the audacity of William because he didn’t think they could pay.

He was stupefied to realize that the transaction had gone through.
$5,000 just like that from this shabbily dressed man.
He didn’t get a clear view of the card but he could tell it was different from a regular bank card.
“Can we have our reservation now?” William casually asked like nothing had happened.

The waiter was embarrassed and at a loss for words.
“I’m sorry…Please forgive my foolishness” He apologized rapidly, “I’ll arrange your reservation right away. This way please, Sir”
Kate glanced at William and he just shrugged with a smile.
How much does William have exactly to spend this way?
Did he really get rich after she left the company?
The waiter took them up the glass staircase to the next floor and showed them the last table which was now reserved for them.
William asked Kate to make her order and she didn’t mention much seeing how much he had spent on the reservation alone.
He understood this and made the order himself, not hesitating to add expensive wines to the list.
The waiter did not dare to talk nonsense this time and went straight into business.
Just then William’s phone buzzed and he frowned slightly, seeing the call was from his Boss.
Still, he received it.
Ethan cried from the other end of the call, “William, you have to save us, please come to our rescue, I realize now that I’ve wronged you”
This was the first time he had heard his Boss speak in this sorry way.
“What happened?” William wasn’t too bothered.
“All investors are pulling out of our company and right now we’re in a huge. debt. We’re about to go bankrupt. This can only be the work of your friend, Lady Amelia. Please help us plead with Lady Amelia, we realize our mistakes. Don’t let my company crumble” After hearing Ethan’s explanation, William understood it was really the doing of Amelia Sinclair.
She was really taking revenge on his behalf.
“Fix your problems by yourself” He hung the call and blocked Ethan’s number.
William turned around to Kate and asked calmly. “So who’s going to start first?”
She blinked her eyes and whispered, “William, what the hell happened to you? You’re different
“Am I?” He inquired rhetorically.
Kate merely shook her head. “We both know you couldn’t afford a bicycle, William. You just bought a limited edition of a $5 million car and don’t appear to be bothered about it”
“4 Million, your boss gave me a discount” He corrected her.
She was
at a loss for words now.
William was really changed.
“I made a little money, Kate” William understood what Kate was thinking and why she was acting this way.
Everyone knew him as a Nobody who worked as a garbage collector and picked trash around the City.
He never spent his salary and always saved it up for his wife.
This was the person she knew him as months ago but now, he was a millionaire in her sight.
He definitely couldn’t tell her that he was the heir to a trillion–dollar Conglomerate group.
She would either freak out or not believe him.
“A few money…?”
Kate couldn’t stop staring at him wondering if William had a twin brother who was pretending to be him.
He waved his hand across her face to pull her out of the daze.
“Now it’s your turn, you suddenly disappeared from the company“, Kate was the only one who never looked down on him back at the company and he was sincerely worried about her.
She sighed. “Promise me that you won’t act rashly, William”

This gave William enough reason not to make the promise.
“I don’t even know what you’re going to talk about”
She gritted her teeth. “Just promise me”
“Fine. I won’t act rashly except there’s a need”
Kate realized she couldn’t completely get him to promise so she continued, ” The truth is that I talked to Ethan to promote you but…..
She hesitated, “He made some suggestion to me. Ethan promised to promote you if I agreed to sleep with him for a year. I refused because it- I tried to talk things with him but he got angry at me and fired me from the company. I didn’t want you to feel bad for me so I left silently”
William clenched his fist under the table but the expression on his face remained calm.
How despicable of Ethan to do this?
He never thought that Kate was fired from the company because she tried to get him promoted.
He felt warmth in his heart but it was soon clouded with the desire to teach
Ethan a lesson.
Ethan would not go scot–free with this.
He was already suffering but that wasn’t enough for William to be satisfied.
His phone was now ringing and he looked to see the incoming call from Amelia Sinclair.
He wasn’t sure what she wanted because he already texted her with the name of the herb root he wanted.
“A second, Kate…” He said apologetically and took the call.
“Miracle Doctor, why delay to take my call?” He could hear her grievances from the other end.
“What do you want?” He asked like he didn’t hear her question.
She sneered disdainfully, “You really don’t know how to be polite to a beautiful

“New Ocean Restaurant, VIP floor” He answered her, and she hung up the call immediately.
The waiter who was standing to the side quickly approached and bowed slightly.
“Apologies for the inconvenience. Someone else has booked your table. There’s space at the regular section now
Kate noticed the crudeness of this waiter and couldn’t hold herself from speaking. “He just paid for a reservation here. What are you talking about?”
The waiter smiled bitterly, “Yes, but a Young Miss from the Mellon family wants this VIP table. We’ll refund your money and compensate you well”
There was a flash of annoyance across William’s eyes. “Do we look like beggars to you?”
His tone was threatening.
