Chapter 10
The next morning, Celeste opened her eyes to find a soft, adorable child sleeping beside her. The young one was curled up comfortably in her arms, sleeping peacefully, with long lashes and pale skin that seemed almost translucent.
Celeste felt a strange sensation in her heart. Over the past five years, she had seen many children, but none had made her feel as affectionate, fond, and celuctant to let Sammel did.
She chuckled at her thoughts, thinking that if she really refused to let him go, she would probably face the wrath of the Ford family.
Lost in thought, she quietly got up to make breakfast. However, when she reached the living room, she was surprised to see julian already awake. He had laid out an impressive spread of breakfast on the table.
There was oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and a selection of pastries.
Celeste blinked in surprise. “What’s all this?”
Julian replied casually, “I went out to get it. I didn’t know what you’d like, so I bought some of everything His voice was deep and smooth, with a relaxed and Soothing tone,
Celeste felt flattered and replied, “You’re too kind. I’m not picky. I’ll eat anything.”
The idea of Julian buying breakfast for her was almost scandalous. If word got out, many women might grow jealous. However, Julian seemed indifferent about it.
“Is that so? That’s good to know do get ready, and I’ll wake Samoel.”
celeste nodded vaguely and headed to the bathroom.
When she emerged 15 minutes later, Samuel was already up. He was reluctantly cuddled in his father’s arms, and pilian patiently soothed Samuel despite his stem expression
Celeste found the sight heartwarming. She considered how fortunate Samuel’s mother must be to have such a sweet child. She wondered why she wasn’t with Julian and Samuel, speculating whether it was due to opposition from the Ford family or some other reason.
While Celeste was lost in thought, Samuel spotted her Without a word, he slipped off his father’s lap and ran over to her.
Celeste picked him up and smiled. “Did you sleep well?” she asland
“Yes,” Samuel said, hugging her neck while grinning
Celeste utiled his hair. “Let’s go have breakfast ”
“Okay,” Samuel replied cheerfully. He are enthusiastically, and soon, his bowl of oatmeal was empty.
Julian watched them with an unreadable expression. Usually, getting Samuel to eat was a challenge for everyone. Yet, around Celeste, he was perfectly well-
After breakfast, Celeste tidied up and prepared to head to work slack it was on his way, Julian offered to dmp her oft neat her office.
When Celeste exited the car, Samuel cung to her leg and wouldn’t let go. Celeste chuckled despite herself.
“Sweetie, I have to go to work. You need to go back with your dad.”
Samuel looked up at her with tearted eyes. His expression clearly showed that he didn’t want to part with Celeste.
Celeste was almost swayed by his cuteness but reminded herself that she couldn’t give in. Her livelihood and her mother’s medical expenses depended on this job. She tumed to Jalian, looking slightly troubled.
“Mr. Ford..”
Julian calmly picked Samuel up and said, “Ms. Hart has to go to work, so you can’t hold her up. However, you can save her phone number and call her when she’s free. You can visit her after she’s off work tonight”
Samuel’s previously sad face brightened with hope as he looked at Celeste, his eyes silently asking if it was okay.
Celeste couldn’t resist the young boy’s charm and smiled. “Of course. I’ll give you my number.”
Then, she bent down to look for paper and a pen in her bag
Julian handed her his phone and said, “just save it in my phone.”
Celeste was surprised. Nevertheless, took the phone and stored her number.
Samuel’s face lit up as he clutched the phone tightly, “Goodbye, Ms. Hart. I’ll call you, so please make sure to answer”
“Alright, alright,” Celeste said, smiling. She bade farewell to Julian and Samuel and then headed into the office.
As soon as she entered, everyone in the planting department stared at her as if she were an exotic animal. Their intense gazes made her feel uneasy.
“Lynn, what’s going on with everyone?” the asked her close colleague.
Without missing a beat, Lynn approached and linked her arm with Celeste’s, “Celeste, you’d better tell ne–do you already know the heir of Ford Corporation?” Celeste had anticipated this question and replied calmly, “How is that possible? He’s the heir of the Ford Corporation. I’ve never met him before.”
“That’s strange. He seems to like you a lot,” Lynn said
“Yeah. He even made things difficult for Ms. Hall because of you,” another rulleague added.
“You probably don’t know, but Mr. Stone has proinoted you to a full–time position in the Planning Department and made you the project leader for this event,” another coworker said.

Her other colleagues also gathered around; chattering excitedly.
Celeste was slightly surprised but quickly composed herself. Although she had suspected that her position might be made permanent, she hadn’t expected in be appointed project leader
At that moment, 1ynn leaned in and whispered, “Celeste, you’d better be careful. Faye doesn’t look happy at all, she even had an argument with Mr. Stone about this yesterday”
Just as Celeste was about toned in acknowledgment, she looked up and saw Faye walking in through the door. Her other colleagues quickly scattered.
Faye’s face was stommy as she gritted her teeth and threw a stack of documents onto Celeste’s desk. These included all the plans for Samuel’s birthday party and some crucial preliminary research.
Faye had been previously in charge of everything, but now it was all being handed over to Celeste clearly displeased, Faye said, “Celeste, you’d better understand your limits. Don’t think you can take on ton much too soon. And be careful not to overreach.”
However, Celeste wasn’t intimidated. She smiled and said, “Thank you for your concen, Ms. Hall. I’m confident in my abilities, so you needn’t worry.”
Faye’s expression grew even darker, “Well, we’ll see. Don’t end up failing and making the company a laughingstock.”
With that, Faye turned around and left
Celeste suddenly felt ominous. She wondered when Faye had become so accommodating. Knowing For’s personality, she suspected that she would definitely try to sabotage the project if she felt slighted.
Celeste’s heart sank. She instinctively flipped through the stack of documents on her desk and immediately saw that some important materials had been tampered with, and a few of the plans were even tom to shreds.
