Chapter 15
Altertive years, Celeste thought she would be calm upon meeting them again.
However, the deep–seated anger she had suppressed for so long surged suddenly, wreaking havoc in hermind Memories replayed like an old film, with stacy’s tacting voice echoing in her ears.
“I was the one who removed your mother’s expgenmask
“Celeste, I’m going to destroy you!
“Dad is mine, the Han family fortune is mine, Wallis is mine. You are nothing but a discarded child of the Hart family.”
Even today, her words remain as painfully vivid as ever.
Celeste delt a sharp headache and Instinctively wanted to avoid them. She tumed and went straight into the break room.
However, Stacy’s sharp eyes caught sight of the vaguely familiare. She paused for a moment and said, “Was that..”
“Him? What’s wrong?” William, who was talking with tools, turned to ask upon heating herstart to speak.
Stacy shook her head and smiled, “It’s nothing. Iniust have been mistaken.“‘
Although she said that, her eyes narrowed. She knew perfectly well that she hadn’t been mistaken. She would recognize Celeste even if she turned to dust.
As their footsteps grew fainter, Celestesghed with relief in the break mom, though the bitterness leside her wouldn’t dissipate.
At that moment, a notification pinged on her phone. Celeste checked and saw a voice message on her WhatsApp
She opened it, and Samuel’s high–pitched voice came through, “Ms. Hart, I’ve arrived at the office with Dad.”
Celeste’s heart softened. Her previously pent–up emotions seemed to melt away
She smiled and sent a volice message back, “Okay, Samuel, make sure to listen to Daddy.”
Her gentle, warm voice confooted pullan and Samuel on the other end of the phone.
Samuel looked at his father unhappily and asked, “Can’t go to Ms. Han’s house tonight?
“No,” Julian teplied expressionlessly. “Henry and Manana will come to pick you up later.”
Samuel persisted, asking, “Can Limite My Hart over to our house?”
Jalian paused briefly while reviewing documents and said, “Not now.
Samuel salked. He disdainfully opped his phone and stomped off, saying “You’re mean, Dad. I hate you. Iagoleg to find Uncle Mar
Julian ignardimand let him go. His gaze lingered on the phone on the sofa. He slowly got up, picked it up, and replayed the mice message. Celeste’s soft, gentle voice was unexpectedly soothing to his ears.
A satisfied smilesperad across his face as he tapped to view Celeste’s Instagram posts. Her profile had only a few sparse updates
Celeste’s posts included pictures of delicious food, her solo celebration of starting a new job, and her shopping trips, during which she admired things in store windows that she wanted. She apprend cheerful and lively in every picture but was always alone.
Julian’s heart seemed to stir slightly as he viewed the photos. He wasn’t the type to pry into others‘ private lives, but at that moment, he felt an unusual urge to learn more about her past. This was a teefing he had never experienced before,
Just then, aknock sounded at the office door. He tumed all his phone and coldly responded, “Come in
The door opened, and a strikingly handsome man with a delicate demeanor and gold–rimmed glasses walked in. He cut to the chase, adding, “Why did you call me here so gently?”
“Naially, there’s something.” Julian gestured for him to sit and pressed the intercom to have Nancy bring in coffee.
Michael Callaway sat down on the sofa without cremony and complained, “I saw several patients last night and only just got to sleep this maming This had better be important, or have to take it out on you!”
Julian remained impassive. After contemplating, he said, “I have feelings for a woman.
Michel w en aback. He took a moment to process Julian’s words, that up abruptly and asked, “What kind of feelings
Julla’s face remained impassive as he replied, “What do youthink?
Michael’s excitement grew. “Really? What’s so special about this woman? To know her?”
Julian’s expression remained frosty, “I called you here to assess me, not to indulge your curiosity.”
Realizing he had gotten too excited, Michael cleaned his throat and tried to regainix composure.
“So, it seems you’re only moved by women you have feelings for. On the other hand, you’re indifferent to those you don’t. Well, that woman you’re interested in must be quite fortunate. In a world full of fickle people, finding someone so dedicated is race-
“So is this a good thing?” julianasked, narrowing his eyes at his friend.
Michael nodded vigorously, “Absolutely. I used to think you had a problem, but you clearly don’t. Your physical and met Thealth are normal. I’m starting to doubt if my skills as a psychologist are up to part
Julian nodded and said coldly, “Since there’s nothing else you can leave now
Michael nearly choked on his frustration. “I just got here. Nancy hasn’t even brought the coffee yet, and you’re sending me away already? Let me at least have my

coffee. What if I get into an accident later due to lack of sleep?”
Julian scoffed and changed the subject. “Samuel has become a lot meer cheerful recently.”
“ch? Why is that?” Michael asked, suprised,
Jalian replied, “It’s the same reason as mine because of the same wom
Michael’s eyes widened. “Is it really that coincidental? Could it be that this woman is Samuel’s biological mother?”
Michael only made the suggestion offhandedly, but Jalian immediately dismissed it. “That’s impossible”
“How can you be so sure? Michael pressed on. “You had feelings for the woman you were with back then. Now, another woman has appeared, and it seems almost tooincidental.
Julian’s expression tightened, and he looked troubled. “I was dragged by Marcus back then.
He paused and added, “With a strong sedative.”
Michael was stunned into silence.
When he finally found his voice, he remarked sympathetically, “How did that brat not get beaten to death by you?”
Julian chose not to respond. He was clearly unwilling to continue the discussion
Yet, Michael couldn’t resist his curiosity. “So, what are you planning to do next? You’ve trally met someone special. Don’t let het slip away, or you might be single
Julian regained his usual calm demeanor, “I will handle it appropriately.”
After discussing a few more matters, Michael left.
