Chapter 28

Julian remembered that Celeste hadn’t eaten much meat last time, so he nodded slightly. Then, he said, There are also vegetarian dishes here. Let me order a carbonara felttata. They taste really good. You’ll like it.”

Celeste asked in confusion, What’s that?”

Julian replied, it’s similar to an omelet.“

Celeste was speechless. She found the name of the dish a little too fancy for an omelet

After a while, Julian finished ordering the food and poured Celeste and Samuel some lemonade to soothe their throats before the meal

Celeste thanked him. Then, she picked up a glass and had Samuel drink it first

Samuel drank the lemonade very gracefully. In fact, he looked strangely elegant as he took a sip of his drink. He was very similar to Julian beside him, and it was a pleasant sight

After a while, Samuel finished his drink, and Celeste drank her own lemonade, just then, the door of the private room opened, and a waiter came in with the bill. Julian casually placed it on the table, and Celeste inadvertently glanced at the bill and choked on her drink when she saw the prices

Julian frowned and said, Be careful. As he spoke, he delicately patted her back to soothe her

Upon seeing this, Samuel also stood up and helped pat Celeste’s back, not wanting to be outdone

Celeste didn’t respond to their actions. Instead, she stared at the bill with wide eyes

The carbonara frittata was 500 dollars, the filet mignon was also 500 dollars, and the zucchini fritters were 340 dollars

After looking at the other things on the bill too, Celeste was dumbfounded

How lavish were these foods? Why were they so expensive? Could this restaurant possibly be scamming a great CEO like Julian

Suddenly, the private room door opened again, and the waiter pushed the dining cart with all the dishes they’d ordered into the room

Celeste finally recovered from her coughing fit and immediately looked at the carbonara frittata

The goldenbrown crust of the frittata was decorated with parsley and olives and looked really appetizing. On the other hand, the other dishes didn’t seem special at all

When Julian saw Celeste staring at the carbonara trittata, he promptly cut her a piece and said, You must be hungry. Try this.

Celeste thanked him and took the frittata. She couldn’t really bring herself to eat it at first. However, after taking a bite, she realized why this dish was so expensive -it was the creativity of the dish

The frittata was clearly derived from two completely different types of foods. Even so, it was delicious and crispy, and anyone who ate it would definitely come back for more

However, since Celeste was

poor, she still thought that spendin

spending hundreds of dollars on a fancy omelet was unacceptable

But Celeste wasn’t foolish enough to voice her opinions. Instead, she simply observed and accepted the massive difference between her and Julian

There was no way she could ever compare to him. Not in a billion years

And just like that, Celeste finished her dinner with mixed feelings

Later that night, when the three of them were almost done, Celeste went to the bathroom. Unexpectedly, when she retumed, she saw the people she didn’t want to see the most in the corridor

Those people were William and Stacy, and they weren’t the only ones. Her father, Ethan, and her stepmother, Stacy Sanchez, were there too, along with William’s parents, Benedict Prescott and Sally Queen

The two families looked really happy

Ethan was smiling as he told Benedict and Sally, William is truly an outstanding guy. Stacy is really lucky to have hirm

Benedict said, You’re too kind, Stacy is a great woman too. She’s goodlooking and sweet, William’s lucky to be getting the chance

chance to marry her

Sally agreed, Since they’re doing so well right now, we should pick a date to hold the wedding

Stary and William luoked at each other and said with a smile, We’re okay with that

The two families were talking and laughing But then, the eagleeyed William noticed Celeste standing close by, and his expression immediately shifted
