Chapter 38
After Celeste handled everything, she squatted down in front of Samuel and touched his face.
“Sweetie, are you okay? Do you recognize me? I’m Ms. Hart.”
Samuel didn’t say anything, but his eyes trembled.
He finally reacted.
Celeste held back her anxiousness and carried Samuel on her lap. She continued, “What’s wrong? Why don’t you tell me?”
Samuel looked at her with wide eyes. Then, his eyes turned red.
Celeste instantly panicked when she saw this. “Why are you crying? Are you sad because I left you in the restaurant and ran away? I’ll apologize to you, okay?
Samuel frowned and buried his head in Celeste’s arms before bursting into tears.
Celeste was frightened and quickly hugged him, gently cooing him as she did so, “Don’t cry. I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
Julian silently watched them nearby.
He didn’t stop them and simply looked at Samuel. He more or less understood his son.
Even though Samuel was willful, he wasn’t unreasonable. There had to be a reason for his sudden outburst tonight.
He was still fine when Julian had gone to see Celeste, so the problem must have occurred when Marcus brought him home.
While Celeste comforted Samuel, Julian opened the door and left the room.
Meanwhile, Marcus and Michael were waiting outside. They asked, “How is he? Is he hurt? Do you want to call the doctor over?” Julian closed the door and left Celeste and Samuel alone. Then, he said, “It’s okay. He’s tine.”
Marcus sighed in relief and finally relaxed. Then, Julian asked, “Did you say anything to Samuel when you brought him home? Marcus was confused. “Huh? No, I didn’t say a
say anything.‘
“Think about it carefully before you answer my question,” Julian warned.
Marcus‘ heart started to race again. He stuttered, “I–I really didn’t say anything. After you left, I brought Sam home. I only said some things on the way home.” “What did you say?” Julian pressed.
Marcus frowned and recalled his memories. “Nothing much. I just asked him what happened. Then, Sam told me Ms. Hart ran away, so I joked that you were going after her because she didn’t want you two anymore.”
At the mention of this, Marcus suddenly paused.
He finally realized his mistake and began sweating
Michael coldly looked at him and said, “So, you were the cause of this.”
Julian narrowed his eyes and looked at Marcus with a terrifying Baze.
Marcus‘ hair stood on end, and he quickly explained, “Julian, I really didn’t mean it. I said that in jest. I didn’t expect something like that to have such a big impact
on Sam…”
Julian mercilessly kicked Marcus and scolded, “Get on your loves in the living room and stay that way until dawn.”
After that, he walked into the room without giving Marcus a chance to explain himself.
Marcus pushed forward and said, “Julian-
However, Julian slammed the door in response.
Michale patted Marcus on the shoulder sympathetically, “You should be lucky that he only asked you to stay on your lances for one night instead of breaking your legs. Just do as he says. Don’t challenge him anymore. Samuel hasn’t recovered yet.”
Marcus looked dejected as he said, “I’ll do it now,”
Now, things had finally settled down.
Meanwhile, inside the coom, Celeste had also calmed Samuel down.
