Chapter 44
At 10:00 am in Creative Solutions, the general manager, Louis Stone, and the top executives were waiting at the entrance. They were all dressed in sharp suits and ties, ready to impress the visitors.
Soon, a line of Audi cars pulled up, and Louis quiddy went to greet them.
The first car stopped, and Louis hurried to open the door for the visitor.
The first person to get out was William Prescott representing Prescott Group
William wore a neat pinstripe sult. He was tall and handsome, and his shoes were very shiny. His polished look and confident manner made a strong impression on everyone present.
Following closely behind him was his fiancée, Stacy Hart.
She was dressed in high–end designer clothes, with perfect makeup and a hint of arrogance. She was like a peacock showing off its feathers. But when she looked at William, her face softened to a warm and gentle smile.
The rest of the people from the other cars started to get out to join the group.
Louis stepped forward and extended his hand, saying, “Mr. Prescott, welcome to your new team. We’ve prepared some excellent tea and wine for you.”
William shook his hand and smiled back “Mr. Stone, you’re too land. After today, we’ll all be like family, and we’ll be working together closely.”
Louis smiled broadly and said, “It’s my pleasure. Please, come in.” He then made a welcoming gesture and led them inside to the general manager’s office. Prescott Group had come with a clear goal–to get the best deal. Their team, made up of top negotiators, was ready for this
Louis welcomed everyone, served them tea and wine, and then started the meeting.
Prescoll Group was a major player in the industry, so their team was very skilled. They quicldy reviewed Creative Solutions‘ assets, revenue, protits, resources, market value, and any debts.
The lead negotiator explained, “Creative Solutions has been around for three years. The first year had a lot of debt. The second and third year barely made any money. By the fourth and fifth year, they’d started malding a profit of around 30 million each year.
“Last year, profits dropped to 20 million because of competition. But this year has been great, especially after teaming up with Ford Corporation, which doubled the company’s value..
In the long run, Creative Solutions can still grow. But because the team isn’t very experienced, there might be problems later next year. So, we’re offering…” He held up two fingers, showing the price.
200 million.
Louis’s face tightened when he heard the price. He said, “Creative Solutions has worked hard to build its reputation and invest in its growth. Even though we’re not publicly listed, this offer is too low,”
He then held up five fingers to show the minimum amount his boss was hoping for “Our boss was expecting at least this much.”
William, who had been quiet until now, laughed softly. “Mr. Stone, you’re asking for too much. We’ve already given a fair price based on a detailed evaluation. Your number is way out of our budget. No company would agree to that.
“Let’s be reasonable this offer can’t be changed”
But Louis responded firmly. “Business doesn’t work that way, Mr. Prescott.
