Chapter 47
Upon noticing that Marcus wasn’t interested, William stepped closer to him and said, “Mr. Marcus, I heard that Ford Corporation is looking to work with Stephen Corporation on a new high–tech computer chip.
prepare. Can I
“Our company has also been working on this and is a leader in domestic technology. We’ve put together a great proposal that took us three months to p show it to you?
When Marcus heard this, he couldn’t help but feel like Prescott Group was a joke.
A leader in domestic tech? Just because they made a product that got some attention doesn’t mean they’re going to be impressive forever. Yet, here they were, bragging.
He smiled and said, “That project isn’t under me. My brother is in charge of it. Talling to me won’t help.”
William, surprised by the quick refusal, tried again. “The proposal is really impressive. I’m sure you’d like it if you sawit.
Marcus replied, “Even if I liked it, it wouldn’t change anything. You need to talk to my brother, Julian, about this.”
“Could you introduce me to Mr. Julian then?” William hesitantly asked.
Marcus chuckled, clearly unimpressed.
After all, Julian wasn’t someone just anyone could casually meet.
“It’s best not to bother. Julian isn’t in the mood to see anyone right now, Marcus said, dismissing the request.
William tried to argue back, but Louis quiddy intervened, saying, “Mr. Marcus, here’s the progress report you asked for.”
“Thanks,” Marcus replied and took the report to flip through.
William’s attempts to speak up were ignoted as Marcus was too focused on the document.
After looking over the report, Marcus shut it with a satisfied nod. “This looks good. I’m heading out now. If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.” He then grabbed his car keys from the desk and walked toward the door.
william hurried to catch up to him “Mr. Marcus..”
However, Marcus stopped and sharply interrupted him, “Mr. Frescott, business has its priorities. Right now, we’re focusing on Creative Solutions. If Prescott Group really wants to work with Ford Corporation, you’ll have to wait for another chance.
In other words, he was saying that William wouldn’t get his chance now.
Then, Marcus walked out of the room.
Back in the meeting room, everyone from Prescott Group had serious expressions.
William was especially angry. After all, this was the first time that he had ever tried to impress someone, but he got completely ignored.
Not to mention, he was the one who had been trying to make a deal in the first place..
William’s frustration simmered as Louis beamed with an almost vindictive satisfaction.
What Louis had feared most–that Marcus’s sudden appearance would sabotage the deal–had turned into an unexpected boon for him.
Feeling pleased with himself, Louts said to William, “Mr. Prescott, Mr. Marcus has a point. You wanted to buy our company, so don’t let his visit change your plans.
“Plus, Mr. Marcus mentioned that there could be future chances to work with Prescott Group. So, you’re not losing out.
“Ford Corporation’s projects are worth billions. They’re way more than what we’re talking about now. Don’t you think so?”
However, William’s frustration only deepened. He had lost both the deal and his dignity, and it left him both angry and empty–handed.
