Chapter 48
The following day, Prescott Group swiftly finalized the acquisition of Creative Solutions for a hefty 500 million dollars.
However, on the third day after the acquisition, Ford Corporation announced that it was scrapping the partnership, citing Creative Solutions for breach of contract.
William was stunned by the news. “Breach of contract? What’s the issue?”
Visibly shaken, the new head of Creative Solutions explained, “The contract stipulated that a senior Ford Corporation employee had to oversee the project.
*However, that employee was dismissed without first notifying Ford Corporation. When Ford Corporation discovered this, they moved to terminate the agreement.
”
י
A cold dread settled over William. “Who was this senior employee?!!
The answer came, almost as a whisper, “Celeste… Celeste Hart ”
William’s face turned red in anger.
So, Celeste Hart–the person he had fired–was the key issue.
Why hadn’t Louis mentioned this important detail?
Now, with Prescott Group having acquired Creative Solutions and Ford Corporation pulling out, the 500 million was effectively wasted.
Just then, William’s assistant worriedly rushed in. “Mr. Prescott, the shareholders are here, and they’re demanding an explanation”
William’s expression was one of intense frustration. “Tell them to wait for me in the conference room
“Got it.” The assistant quickly left to pass on the message.
Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office at Ford Corporation, Marcus was grinning as he showed Julian his work. “I bet William’s furious right now. “Julian, didn’t I handle this perfectly?”
Julian calmly replied as he flipped through some papers, “It’s okay.”
Marcus looked a bit disappointed. “Olay? You should be praising me and maybe even giving me a three–month break!”
Julian gave him a cold look “You’re only halfway done. You’re not getting a break just yet.”
Marcus excitedly said, “It’s not far off! Prescott Group’s projects have almost used up all of their cash. William’s 500 million for that useless company is going to put them in financial trouble. That’s already a big win
However, Julian shook his head and said, “This is why you’re always so short–sighted. William might not be perfect, but he’s not weak. If he were, he wouldn’t have risen to such a high position so young. Plus, he has the Hart family backing him up.
“If Prescott Group gets into trouble, they’ll help him out. And don’t be surprised if they take their anger out on Celeste.”
Marcus’s face fell as he finally understood the situation.
Ford Corporation had used the fact that the project’s original manager wasn’t Celeste as an excuse to cancel the deal. But knowing how ruthless William was, Marcus realized that he might go after Celeste.
This wasn’t the end. It was just the start of more
e problems.
Marcus felt a mix of frustration and betrayal.
The promised three–month break now seemed like a lie, and his brother, Julian, seemed like just another schemer. He promised one thing and planned to do
another.
Now, Marcus was left feeling angry and deceived,
