Chapter 51
william’s expression turned cold. “Don’t blame me for what’ll happen next.”
He then raised his hand, and two men dressed in black appeared out of nowhere.
Celeste panicked. She tried to close the door, but the two men forced it open and grabbed her by the arms and held her tight.
Angry and scared, Celeste shouted, “William, what the hell are you doing?”
William calmly said, “I told you, Celeste. I’m offering you a new job, a new life. Come back with me, and nothing bad will happen.”
“You’re crazy!” Celeste yelled. But before she could say any more, William interrupted, “Knock her out.” After all, it was late, and he couldn’t risk neighbors hearing the commotion.
The two bodyguards followed his orders, and one of them struck the back of Celeste’s neck
Celeste felt a sharp pain, then everything went dark as she lost consciousness, her body going limp in their grip
At the entrance of Peony Residences, a black Porsche was parked under the thick trees. It seamlessly blended into the shadows.
Inside the car, Stacy sat in the passenger seat, staring at the building with anger in her eyes. Her hands squeezed the steering wheel so hard that her knuckles
turned white.
Today was supposed to be special. It was her six–year anniversary!

She had dressed up for the occasion only to sit at the restaurant for hours, waiting for him to show up.
When Stacy couldn’t take it anymore, she went to William’s office and found out that Ford Corporation had canceled the deal.
But William? He was nowhere to be found.
Her gut told her that William had gone to see Celeste. So, she rushed over here, filled with rage and jealousy.
As soon as Stacy arrived, she saw William’s car parked just where she thought it would be
Her grip tightened on the steering wheel. “Why couldn’t she just stay gone? Why did she have to come back?” stacy muttered angrily.
Just then, her eyes caught something moving nearby a familiar figure walling out of the complex.
It was William.
He was carrying someone and holding her like she was really precious.
Even from a distance, Stacy could tell that it was Celeste.
Seeing Celeste in William’s arms made Stacy’s blood run cold. Her anger flared up, and she threw open the car door, ready to confront them
But before she could get out, a shiny black Maybach drove up and blocked her way.
Stacy’s frustration grew, but before she could do anything, the door of the Maybach opened, and a tall, powerful man stepped out.
Even in the dark, he looked cold and commanding.
Stacy recognized him immediately–it was the same man who had defended Celeste in the restaurant a few days ago.
