Chapter 60
Stacy stood frozen in place. Julian’s words still echoed in her ears. The overwhelming intimidation he exuded felt like Satan himself crawling, up from hell. It made her feel as though she had just been trialed for an execution.
That man, Julian Ford, was terrifying!
Celeste’s eyes looked blank as Julian’s words replayed in her mind. It wasn’t until they reached downstairs that she snapped back to reality. She quickly pulled her hand away from Julian.
He paused, staring at her in a daze. “What’s wrong?
For some reason, Celeste’s distressed appearance made Julian feel horrible.
Stacy’s relentless aggression, Ethan and Susan’s cruelty. Jullan couldn’t bear to imagine what Celeste had endured in the past, or whatever that happened in the
past
For a moment, he wanted to pull her into a hug and tell her that she had him to rely on from now
However, Celeste looked up at him. Her face was expressionless as she said, “Julian, don’t come looking for me again
Julian frowned. “Celeste, you don’t have to worry about being a burden. Samuel likes you so much. I’ll protect you from them.”

When Julian retumed home, Samuel rushed forward and looked left and right. After looking around for a while, he couldn’t find Coleste.
He asked, “Where is Ms. Hart, Dad? Why didn’t she come back? I’ve been waiting for her! 1 left her a lot of delicious food!”
Julian didn’t reply. Samuel didn’t seem to notice his cold demeanor.
Samuel tugged on his sleeve and urged, “Dad, say something!”
Julian snapped out of his thoughts and replied coldly, “You’ll be staying at your p
grandparents‘ for the next few days!” Samuel was shocked. There was confusion in his eyes. “Why am I staying with Grandma and Grandpa? Where is Ms. Hart? “I want Ms. Hart!”
“Ms. Hart will be busy these few days. She won’t be able to come for the time being.” Julian remarked coldly. When Samuel beard this, his eyes welled up with tears.
He asked aggrievedly. “Why? Does Ms. Hart not want me anymore? Was I being naughty? She promised she
