Chapter 65
Julian gently hummed in response. Then, he instructed, “Take Sam home after he has eaten dinner.”
“Sure, Mr. Ford,” replied Tim.
After the call ended, Marcus, who was sitting beside Julian, clicked his tongue. He said meaningfully, “I have to give it to you, Julian. You even manipulated your
son”
Julian hadn’t taken any action these few days. He even thought Julian had decided to let it go… It seemed he had been worried for nothing.
Julian didn’t say anything. How could be allow Celeste to cut all ties with him?
“Julian, you see how important Sam is to Celestel You, on the other hand. You’ll need to work harder!” exclaimed Marcus, who was clearly looking for trouble. Julian cast him a frosty look. “I guess you’re ready to forgo your three–month break.”
Alarmed, Marcus sat upright and waved his hands in disagreement. “Oh, no. I was just joking. You’re surely the most important person to her.” “Get lost.”
“Alright, Julian, I’ll leave you alone.” Marcus picked up his coat and rose to his feet. While doing so, something came to mind, and he paused before asking, “Oh, right. Does Dad and Mom know you’ve told Tim to take
Samuel had been staying with Henry and Mariana for the past few days
Right after Marcus said that, they heard someone asking in an urgent tone from outside. “Julian, where is Sam? School’s been dismissed ages ago; why isn’t he home yet? Is be here with you?
It was Henry and Mariana. They had been waiting at home for Samuel, but Samuel never appeared. So, they immediately rushed to Julian’s house.
Julian rubbed his temples. How could he have forgotten about his parents?
Mariana scanned the hall. Worried, she said, “I don’t see Sam. Is he in his room?” As she spoke, she headed for Samuel’s room.
Julian spoke up. “Mom, Sam’s not here.”
“What? He’s not here? Then where is he? He’s not home yet even though school’s been dismissed so long ago, and Tim’s not answering his phone. Could it be that something has happened to him?”
Mariana looked anxious and even seemed like she would call the police the next second.
Julian quickly calmed them down. “Dad, Mom, Sam’s with my friend. Don’t worry, he’s very safe. I’ll get Tim to take him home soon.”
Mariana finally felt relieved upon hearing that. But wait… a friend?
She arched an eyebrow. Enquiringly, she asked, “Are you talking about that woman from before? How are things between you two? When will you let us meet her?” Mariana’s eyes lit up. Was she going to have a daughter–in–law?
Marcus remained silent while pursing his lips. How were things between them? Terrible.
Noting Julian’s silence, Mariana felt anxious. “You brat, how hard is it for you to say something?”
Even Henry joined the conversation, “Why are you here when Sam’s with her? Perhaps you can send someone to bring them over, so your mom and I can meet her.” “That’s right. I wonder what my future daughter–in–law looks like for you and Sam to like her so much. Quick, call Tim…”
Henry agreed, “Yes. If you really like her, hurry up and let us meet her.”
Leaning against the
couch, Marcus felt tickled to chime in. Oiggling, he said, “Dad, Mom, don’t even bother. You’re not going to have a daughter–in–law anytime soon. She dumped him. Now, Sam’s working hard to win her favor for Julian!”
Julian cast him a cold glare.
Upon hearing that, Mariana became on edge.
