Chapter 76
Jallan stood at the door of the ward. He felt a slight pain in his heart when he heard those words from Celeste.
Her soft voice came from the ward while Julian stood silently at the door. In the end, he held back his urge to enter the ward
Later that night, Celeste fell asleep on the side of the bed with her face down.
Then, Julian carefully pushed open the door and walked in.
Her eyes were closed as she leaned against the bed in silence. She had been worried the whole night. Her delicate face looked exceptionally haggard at the moment.
pullan felt sorry for her. He got a blanket and covered her with it. He paused, then eventually left the ward.
Celeste woke up early the next moming. She was stunned for a bit when she saw the blanket on her. However, she didn’t give it much thought and assumed that it was the nurse who had come for the ward round.
She massaged her neck, and her body was aching, Julian had just left when she stood up and walked out of the ward. He was just at the comer of the corridor.
Celeste was stunned in an instant when she spotted a familiar figure. She wondered if it was Julian.
Her heart pounded uncontrollably. After a momentary pause, she realized she had probably overreacted.
She simply found the person’s back familiar. It was impossible for Julian to show up in the hospital early in the morning. Since she hadn’t slept well, she thought she was probably mistaken
Celeste didn’t dwell on that matter. She headed for the office after having her breakfast.
In the car, Julian called Marcus. Soon, the call was connected, and Marcus sleepy voice sounded,
“Hello, Julian. Why are you calling me at this early hour? What’s wrong?”
Julian replied, “Tell the people from Celistian Solutions to find an excuse and have Celeste go home to rest later.
Julian knew Celeste well. She would certainly head for the office after leaving the hospital
“Huh?” Marcus was baffled, “Why? Do you care about Celeste so much that you don’t even allow her to work now? Why don’t you feel sorry for me? I want to rest at home today-”
The call was ended. Marcus thought it was extremely unfair. He was julian’s biological younger brother.
Although he couldn’t fathom the reason, he followed Julian’s order obediently and called Sabrina.
Since Celeste hadn’t really slept the whole night, she couldn’t help zoning out as she sat in front of the computer. She felt her head aching when she looked at the documents
Massaging her temples, she stood up and went to the pantry to make a cup of coffee.
Sabrina followed her to the pantry, too. She sized Celeste up and asked with a smile, “What’s wrong, Celeste? Are you sick? You don’t seem to be in a good state.” Celeste shook her head. “I’m fine, Ms. Anderson. I simply didn’t have enough rest last night.”
“Look at your dark circles. That’s enough. You’ll be given a day off today. Go back and get some test. Quicld” Sabrina ordered
“It’s okay, Ms. Anderson. I’m fine. I’ll be fine after drinking some coffee to boost my energy.”
Celeste thought the company was being very considerate. She could take a day oft when she didn’t have enough rest. Hence, she was determined to work harder.
Hearing that, Sabrina snatched the cup from Celeste and said strmly, “No. The company needs sprightly–looking employees. Besides, the boss is paying a visit today. You’d better not let him see how you look”
Celeste couldn’t help but feel curious about the identity of the company’s boss. She had been there for a few weeks, yet she hadn’t met the boss before. She figured that he was quite the mysterious person.
“That’s enough. Listen to me. Go back and get some test. Your health matters.”
