Chapter 82
“okay okay. I’ll hold you. But I have to bid my colleagues goodbye before sending you home. Could you wait for me here?” Celeste asked.
Celeste was there for the company gathering. She would have to inform them before she left.
No one would have expected Julian to reject her. He refused to wait for her there alone. As expected from someone who was bom into a rich family–be had a temper even when he was drunk.
She thought of sending her colleagues a text message later. Just then, the door of the private room next door opened. Sabrina, who was about to go to the restroom,
walked out.
Celeste quickly walked up to her and said, “Ms. Anderson, I’m sorry. My friend is drunk, so I have to send him home. Could you help me inform the others that I’ll leave first?”
Sabrina looked up and was startled when she saw the man next to Celeste.
That man was their boss. She was surprised to see her boss with Celeste there.
Sabrina’s mind was flooded with all kinds of thoughts in an instant. She finally fathomed why Marcus had ordered them to have a company gathering and to come to this clubhouse. He had even booked a private room. It turned out that Julian was here.
Sensing Marcus‘ gaze, Sabrina quickly replied, “Yes, yes. You should send your friend home. I’ll talk to them.”
“Thank you, Ms. Anderson.”
Celeste didn’t sense anything strange. She thanked Sabrina and left while supporting Julian.
Sabrina was confused as she stood behind them and wondered about Celeste’s relationship with Julian
Through the gap of the door, Marcus saw Celeste leaving with Julian A victorious smile crept across his face. He thought he had made a smart move, and Julian would deal with the rest..
When they went downstairs, Julian seemed to put all his weight on Celeste.
Celeste was exhausted and breathless. She glared at Julian and asked furiously, “What did you eat?” He was heavy.
Hearing that, Julian felt like laughing but held himself back she was so naive that she couldn’t even tell Julian was pretending to be drunk
When they finally arrived downstairs, Celeste asked, “Where is your car?”
Julian pointed in the direction of the parking lot.
Celeste kept holding him as they walked there. When they found the cat, she placed Julian in the passenger’s seat. For some reason, she fell right into Julian’s embrace.
She was out of breath and weary.
Only then did Celeste notice their strange position after she rested for a bit. She hurriedly wanted to leave, but julian grabbed her by the waist.
He stared intently at her. While feeling tipsy, be asked, “Celeste Hart, why are you running away from me?”
Why hadn’t she told him about her past? Why hadn’t she allowed Michael to tell him about what had happened to her? Why had she asked to cut ties with him after she had caught his attention?
Looking at his deep–set eyes, Celeste fell into a panic. She wanted to stand up, but julian held her head and ldssed her on the lips.
Celeste was stunned. After coming back to her senses, she kept struggling but to no avail, for she was too weak.
Julian held her tightly. His lips were soft yet cold. He parted her lips with his tongue, and the smell of cigarettes wafted through her nose.
It was narrow and quiet in the car. Celeste could vaguely hear his heartbeat. Her mind went blank, and a strange feeling surged within her.
She had no idea if it was due to the effect of the alcohol, but she felt her head spinning. As he kissed her, her body went weak, and she lost her sanity.
