Chapter 10 Miss, I Finally Found You!
In the South District, after finishing the training with the girls, Irene said her goodbyes and walked home,
Emil walked beside her, and they chatted and laughed.
Suddenly, a man dashed out from the side of the road, causing Irene to step back warily.
The man, wearing a shirt and glasses, looked flustered and clutched his phone tightly. It seemed he had accidentally bumped into her.
Irene glanced at the phone screen and saw an image of a familiar white van.
The man’s phone was still transmitting a voice: “The picture? Send it over quickly! Where’s the person? If the kidnappers kill the hostage, you’re finished!”
Irene was speechless.
Even at such a moment, the man was still staring blankly at her.
“Miss? I finally found you!” he suddenly exclaimed, making both Irene and the angry voice on the phone freeze.
“I’m not your miss,” Irene frowned.
The man’s face fell.
He had thought her appearance matched the description in the video, but it seemed he had been too hasty and made a mistak
This man was Assistant Barton, and the voice on the phone was the second young master of the Norman family.
Just as the second young master was about to explode again, Irene approached the phone and said, “However, I think I’ve seen that van.”
“What?”
Both Barton and the second young master shouted simultaneously.
“I knew it! It must be someone from the South District who kidnapped Palmer! Call the police! Call the police!” came a rash young voice from the phone.

“What do you mean it must be someone from the South District who kidnapped him?”
Emil was instantly enraged.
Though they were poor and often resorted to theft and robbery, dealing in scams and drugs, they had no murderers, rapists, or pedophiles among them.
Irene’s gaze also turned icy:
Having lived there for so long, she had grown fond of the people and
integrated into the community’s–unity. Moreover, much of the South District’s stability was due to her efforts, and no one could commit such heinous acts
under her watch.
“I’m sorry. My brother was too anxious and said something inappropriate,” the second young master apologized, trying to calm himself, then urged Barton to send photos and images.
Irene and Emil didn’t argue further.
Anyone would be just as anxious if their brother were kidnapped.
Seeing the misunderstanding resolved, Irene and Emil turned to leave.
Barton quickly stepped in their path, “Miss, please don’t go! Can you come with me to be a witness?”
Irene tilted her head slightly, indicating for him to continue.
Barton, sweating profusely, feared trouble if he revealed his family’s identity. He vaguely said, “Our boss’s grandson was kidnapped. I saw him being dragged into a van at the intersection ahead. We’ve been searching all day with no results. We need your help.”
“You’ve already called the police. I’ll just tell you what I saw,” Irene said.
Kashi’s old lady didn’t know about the arranged marriage, and Irene planned to rest early and visit her the next day.
Until Barton, in desperation, blurted out, “Our boss hired a high–ranking FBI officer, but all he’s done is spout empty rhetoric. It’s been half a day with no
progress.”
“What’s the FBI officer’s name?”
“Decker!”
Irene immediately changed her mind.
“Miss, consider it a favor. I’m desperate and need to save my job. Please come with me,” Barton pleaded, wiping his forehead.
“Alright, but I don’t need a favor. Two thousand Q dollars will suffice. Can you accept that?”
“Of course!”
Barton was overjoyed; the amount was insignificant, and he could easily pay it.

Barton quickly led Irene to his car.
Irene examined the vehicle.
A luxurious business car with an impressive license plate, far beyond what an ordinary company would use.
Was this the car of an assistant like Barton?
Recalling the mention of “the seventh young master,” Irene had a guess and asked with a smile, “Is the kidnapped person named Palmer?”
Barton’s eyes widened.
“How… how do you know that?”
Irene smiled.
Her eyes, large and beautiful, sparkled with life, “After all, how many families in
A City have seven young masters? Only the Norman family, right?”
Barton sighed in relief.
Indeed, the Norman family’s affairs weren’t secret, with numerous stories about the seven young masters and romantic entanglements.
He thought, a girl from the South District couldn’t possibly know him.
Barton had no intention of looking down on Irene, just stating the facts.
The Norman family was always low–key, and Barton rarely left Robertson’s side. Few outside close business partners knew his identity.
The Norman family’s business was vast blocking others‘ financial paths, and they had many enemies. If word got out about the kidnapping, it would affect their stock and might lead to ruthless actions by ill–intentioned people, possibly resulting in Palmer’s death.
This matter could not leak from him!
Irene read Barton’s thoughts easily but didn’t expose him.
She took out her phone and checked the dark web.

Irene neither knew nor cared about this.
The car soon stopped at an estate owned by the Norman family.
Due to the high security and advanced equipment at the estate, the police.

Entering the estate, Irene heard a familiar, annoying voice.
“Have the local police handled it? Let them take care of the case first. Can anyone just call the FBI now?”
A policeman looked furious, but his colleague pulled him back.
“Mr. Decker, you’re currently on suspension. We contacted you through your private detective ad online.”
Decker, already in a foul mood due to his suspension and the large sum spent
on early release from prison, grew colder upon hearing this.
“Then find someone else!”
A nearby student protested, “This isn’t right. The money is good, and it’s been six hours. The situation is critical.”
Decker snapped, “Since when do you give me orders?”
